Twisted Turbo Pump Gas M1000 Update

This sled has exceeded all my expectations!! I found you can run up to about 6#'s of boost before you max out the stock injectors. Shain was going to see if we could change the controller program to get a little more fuel. The sled has run all year on 91 octane pump gas!! The sled will start with 2-3 pulls when cold and always on the first pull after being warmed up. No temp switch to play with, just 1 pull and go!! The powerband is very friendly, no lag at all and you can get in and out of the throttle just like a normally aspirated sled. Any questions, feel free to ask away!!

my question, how much are you gonna have to pay me when I smoke you? lol jk I rode CCs sled and it is sweet for sure. I rode it at 4 lbs and cant wait to try it at 6, should be a HOOOT HOOOT!

when you say no lag at all do you mean that there is not a split second after you pin it for the turbo to spool? i rode a pump gas m8 and it had turbo lag.. very minor but i did notice it. if it's less than the m8 that would be impressive.

Have not ridden a pump gas 800, but this sled does not respond any differently than any naturally aspirated sled that I have owned. I personally do not feel like there is any lag. I have ridden race gas 800's and 1000's and they have what I consider lag.

i rode this sled in question....no lag and felt nothing like my arm yanking turbo M8, dont know the details of this kit, except its runs like butter:beer;

and yes, this pump M1000 is much faster then my race M8....i blame the bigger compressor and extra 200ccs

no lag noticed on this Twisted M1000....i assume deleting the oil res to help make the charge tube shorter and some clutching made this possible, and it wont yank your arms off

Corey I got mine back together and she rips! Took it out today, It is without a doubt the funnest sled I have ever been on! It is unbelievable how much power the 1000 puts out at 5lbs of boost.

Another ride, sled performed flawlessly. The sweet spot seems to be 5#'s of boost. Have the controller setup perfect, learned a few things there. Actually, just did what Derek says to. :) This sled is a boondocking dream and still has tons of power for the long pulls. All in All, it does everything I was hoping for and at $1.50 per gallon!! :D

Just think of how much more fun it woulb be at 14# boost!!What are you saving your gas money for anyways.......building a suite for the mother-in-law......Haha!!!

Corey
I want to ride it to see the lag diff with my race gas kit. Ran my race kit at 14 a couple of time and it was silly. Keeping it at 12 consistently now

any videos of the thing running?? i am about 1 paypal click away from a turbo on my DOO 1000, i know they are totally different, but i have ridden relatively stock m1000 and my doo 1000 side by side and they have similar powerbands, the doo seems to have more torque, either way, that isnt the point.

the torque monster that the big motors are plus the legs of the turbo on top must make it really fun to ride. i am a tree guy as well, so this sounds like what i want, lucky me the doo 1000 has a det sensor as well, so then i dont even have to worry as much about the bad gas situation.

I need someone in the NW that has a pump gas 1000 to try and see if I'm going to snowcheck a new 1000 this spring. Any ideas Shain?
