Just got back from 3-5 feet FRESH!!!

Dad and I just got back from South Fork Gold Creek, the park was all iced over but we didn't overheat. You had to hug the sides of the trail to keep cool, and the track would just spin. Anyways, after you hit about 4000 feet there was a few inches of fresh powder, Then....
As the ride progressed 4500ft, 5000ft, 6000ft, 7000ft, there was 1/2ft, 1ft, 2ft, 3ft, 5ft!!! All in all we had a great time but were cut short because of massive drifts headin up to a great bowl/hill... Damn! The best part is... When we were headin back about 10 minutes from the truck, the groomer's passed us! Oh great. But were gonna head back tomarrow morning (ya it was that good, and all untoched pow!!!) and ride in further on the fresh groom. Their groomer's chopped up the hard snow/ice well enough we didn't overheat on the way down and were hit'n over 100 mph on the trail!!! (watch out!).
Anyway, if anyone's SERIOUSLY interested this time, (take it from me it was great, got stuck alot which is a good thing, DEEP!) Just send me a PM and we talk. Tomarrow we'll be able to go up higher and the'l be tons! We took turns breaking trail which was ungroomed and had 2-3ft FRESH on it! Pic's arn't that great, we were busy ridin! And we NEVER hit anything, thats right no rocks, stumps, tree's, nothin!

Is that one picture right below coyote ridge? if so, could you climb it? no stumps?

I think so... Im not sure where their grooming. They were only 20 minutes in when we left. Thats like 5 miles for them... You can climb anything... We were out for 4 hrs and never hit a thing... The only thing to hit are tree's. :)

Lol! Love how people somehow think that public lands are "their" special secret place to keep for themselves, instead of realizing that it is all of ours to use equally. :p

If it is so secret what are they doing bragging about it here and posting pics?

Nice pics

Was there really 3-5 feet there's hardly any snow on the trees in the pic's. We rode baker today and there was around 15'' of new on a couple of feet of wet snow. Good to finally get a day with some sun.:beer;

Its almost always windy as H**l up their. It all blows off. Im not BS'n you guys, there's a bunch! And the forcast for the area a week ago called for 13-23" every night for a few days.

5ft?

1'..real fun 2'..super fun 3'...super fun for 162 + big power+light weight 4' a work out 5' off fluff not ridable.

everyone stop givin me chit?

but its so much fun!!!!!

according to snotel and weather stations there was up to 34" of snowfall just north of there which can easly amount to some wicked wind drifts!

But when claiming up to 60" of POW peps are gonna give you a hard time about it regardless of the truth!!!

WTH?

Why is everybody bustin' this guy's chops?
(Well, not everybody)

I didn't think he was trying to keep the area a secret at all mtbarr64 but just a little unsure of exactly where he was according to that map.
He DID give an open invite to everybody...Sheesh, give the guy a break.

We all have ridden in 2' of really nice fluff with some 3' to 4' drifts and then exaggerate to our buddies that didn't go by telling them we rode in 3' to 4' freshies all day. haven't you ApeSh*tBananas?

The guy's stoked about his ride when a ton of people on this side are whining that the season is already over because of the rain we got.

I'd be stoked too.
Go ride with him and have fun. I gotta stay home and take care of a wasted back.
Don't forget to thank him for the invite,:D

At least one guy not only read my mind but COMPELTELY understood me... If you wanna talk drifts, ride up their and soak up the 5-10ft (YA!) peeks on the road... :face-icon-small-dis. We can handle a little drifts here and there, but when the WHOLE road is blown over and the only option is sidehilling to your death:eek:?!..... My conscience say turn around... We lost our first sled (my current sled) because of drifts and my dad's scared to death of them... We turn around... There was a huge climb we could have done but the hill was hundreds of feet up and was steep enough to yell AVY!!!
