Feedback wanted. (trailer clamps)

Gauging interest here and looking for any feedback on some trailer clamps. I have personally been these for about 10 years now. They will NOT work with all skis and will only work on sled decks and open trailers. Unfortunetly I'm a flatlander so I know there are some wider skis out there. Simmons, stock yammi mtn lite. etc. etc. They are fully welded, powdercoated, use corrision restitant bolts, and you can also use a small lock on the handle to try and keep away those who have sticky fingers away from your sled. They bolt to the bottom deck and the side of a trailer/sled deck. The opening in the handle is large enough so you can keep your gloves on. They are also adjustable for differnet height skis. you can load and unload with the pull of a pin and flip of a handle.

You can use a lock here if you would like.

They look well engineered and much work must have been put into them but
superclamps are much simpler to use and easier to install

Not trying to be a buzz kill
just saying

I am wondering if you use a lock wherre you say, what's to stop someone from pulling the big pin on the end and having access??

I'm not sure if I get how it works. Show it on a sled. Do you need two per sled?

There would be a nut and bolt where that big cotter pin is. We dont really have a problem here with sleds being stolen etc. so I just run the pin. I didnt have the bolts here when I took the photo.

No sir, just 1 per side. My trailer is under 3' of snow I will try and get some form a friends tomorrow so you can get a idea. I have posted this as a feeler and to try to some feedback on what you guys are looking for. I'm really interseted in seeing how they would work on a sled deck. There is no one that offers a deck probably within 400 miles of here. So hopefully that will be my next project. Most people in this area have never even seen a deck and I think they could really catch on. Thanks for the input, keep it coming.

Nice job, 10 years ago there was a company that made the sno-clamp, it just held one ski very similar to yours but it had a buckel system rather than a pin also theres were lockable, too, they offered stainless or steel powdercoated version. About 6 years ago the company went under do to the law requires a 3 to 4 point ristraint when tieing down your sled, I don't know if you looked into it but that is the Law. Also feed back from customers was that they were not fussy on the fact of bolting the (not to small)bracket onto the trailer as well as it only holds one ski down. If you require 2 of yours per sled because of the Law, your manufacturing cost could get out of wack. I noticed that you are always running over you bracket with you carbides, and does it get in the way if you have a drive on drive off trailer. Just some feedback. Your workmanship look great, nice job again.

I used to have Sno-clamps. Quick & easy as long as you were clamping the same sled every time. Your design is the same concept.

I wondered if my one ski clamp would be enough in a bad situation though. Fortunetly never had to find out. New law....I guess that's why I couldn't find Sno-Clamp on Goggle. :(

It was not a new law, it is an old law for snowmobile transporting, it's a law that a lot of people don't know about or practice. In Canada the DOT will issue a $175.00 fine for every snowmobile that is not sucured down, on or in your trailer, or truck decks. Trust me I have been through it.

does a rear superclamp qualify as 2 rear tiedown points, or would a person have to have 2 of them to be legal? I use and love the superclamp system, front and back, just wondering about the legalities.....

Yes, because your skid of your sled is rigit and our clamp vice grips it to the trailer it cannot move up or down , or side to side. The #1 thing to remember is if you attempt to tie your sled down, the chances of any official ticketing you will be minimal or none. I know if your front is held down by its 2 ski, and you back is tie down with either a Superclamp-rear or a motorcycle tie down, know one will bother you.

Thanks for the info. I guess there are a few good things about living in this area. :) I had know idea about that law. I dont think the local law enforcement would even notice is you had your sled tied down or not.

i dont think you will overcome superclamp...but looking at your set-up..if you were to enlarge the whole idea....widen /hieghten etc...it would make a great lumber secure system for trucks./trailers..2x4 2x6 2x8 etc front and back 10 /15 high several wide...and as well if you made them with hooped multi saddles per unit it would do well to haul pipe etc...abs...copper...especially longer lengths that plumblers like to haul on their little vans and always end up bunji cording them on the ladder racks...keep it up..ya got a talent..

I have a set of sno-clamps on my trailer. I think the company went out of business a few years ago. I like 'em and they work well. I had to build a small block for Simmon skis to work but stockers fit well. Always tie down the rear for extra insurance.:D
