I am putting a new track on and need to drop my axle to get the old track off. I have the skid removed and the bolts around the spedo removed and the lower gear and snap ring removed. I can't slide the axle over far enough to drop the shaft out of the chaincase. What am I doing wrong!!??

normally you need to bunch the track up over the top of the drivers so it will allow the drivers to slide to the clutch side...the drivers hook on the lugs on the inside of the track..

Thanks, I wrestled with it for about an hour last night and could not get it through. I will recruit some help tonight and see if I can get it out...

Take a stiff piece of plastic material and wrap it around the drivers so the drivers cannot grab on the track then tap it out with a rubber mallet.

probably alot easier to remove the chaincase to get some more room to work with.

I agree just remove your chain case. It will make the job so easy your gonna be mad you didnt do it first.

Got another person to hold the track up last night. Took 3 minutes to get it out! Thanks.
