I want to get a new track, but will not be spending the 600 bucks for a Powerclaw. I know that m series take off Challengers seem to be running about $300, and from what I understand the Camo Challenger Extreme is a different track than the take-offs. Can I fit a 2.5'' lug on my King without changing anything else?

2.5'' and 16 wide with no mods? I thought you had to have a drop bracket or different top idlers to make a 16 fit. Is your sled harder to lay over with the 16 inch track?

2.5 will fit with plenty of clearance on your sled. Yes, to go to the 16 wide you need sj drop brackets or >7" diameter upper idlers.

I went from the standard challenger 2.25 x 15 and stuck in a 2.5 x 16 on an 04 KK. It was tight on width but worked great. It was a huge difference. It rumbles a little bit down the trail though. Going down hill its a huge benefit. Go for it. You wont be dissapointed

I do have holtz drop brackets. On our 800 put 6" wheels on the rear upper idlers. Other than that all is good.

He meant 8" wheels on the upper idlers, though 6" would be fine, on that little 800. Like others have said this is a great upgrade only issue is the shake rattle and roll on the trail from the huge paddles.

Yes, the Extreme works fine

After riding my new M-8 though, I've got to wonder if I should have a Powder Claw.

the take off's are the camo challenger, and I have a 153" cheap.
the 2.5" is the camo challenger extreme
I had the extreme 16" wide on my old king kat and it worked well (162) but I found it to be too much rotating mass to get speed up. it chewed well in bottomless snow but the speed factor wasn't there.......until I pushed the happy button!!! the only thing you will have to do to get that track in is top idler wheels, you can use the drop brackets but that messes with suspension geometry.
