Your thoughts on '05 RX-1 Long Track

Just got back into sledding after many years off. Picked up a piped '99 MM 700 last winter with 2100 miles and it does quite nicely. Everything works but the handwarmers. However at 6'2", 250, I feel like I'm scrunched up on it all the time. In particular, the seat is too low for me. Not sure if there's any mods I can make to improve that. And then I started looking. Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on an '05 RX-1 LT with 4500 miles, supposedly groomed trail-ridden only (owner looked like that's probably true) for $2800. Stored inside, sounds great, not a scratch on it, track is in great shape, etc.

So do I keep the MM and do something to make it more comfortable for me or consider moving on to something like this RX?

riding style

if you plan on keeping both somewhat stock the mm is a way better machine for boondocking. The RX chassis is a tank in stock form, but can be made to handle fairly well. it is best suited for straight line chute climbing or trail racing. it does not handle off camber very well and will wear you out quickly.

MM

depends on riding but my vote is for the mountain max. I rode an RX1 a few years back they are heavy not much of a mountain sled stock all. buy a boss seat and a handle bar riser, you will have to get extended cables and what not but go big. I am just shy of 6' and i had a 6 inch riser on mine totally changes the ride. IF you are going to go high on them i would recomend taking the sterring stem out and putting gussets on it right where the top mount is they tend to break there.
thats my $.02

RX-1

I have had both. Still have an RX-1. Also bought 08 Nytro's. I wouldn't do anything with either of them. Add some bucks to the $2800 and get a same year M series, RMK or Summit. I truly wish I had gone away from Yamaha 4 strokes. I will change over on the next go around.

I've had both as well both full mod sleds. If you put some time and effort into the Rx1 it'll spank the MM but it does take work and money. I whacked 93 lbs out of my 03 Rx1 and stretched it from 151 to a 162 at the same time but it was a lot of work and $$.
