Need more information. What is the year, make, and model sled and what altitude are you riding at? any modifcations to the motor, fuel controllers, etc?? What brand of twin pipes are you looking at? There are many answers needed to give the correct recommendations on twins.

08 d7 stock, slp twins for 5,000-8,000ft
I was just wondering if people have had good luck with them on the newer sleds or not. If there is much tuning to do after the first day or two I dont want them.
thanks,
BK

Sorry to tell you this...... But an '08 is not a newer sled. A newer sled would be 2010-2011-2012!

A 4-5 year old sled is OLD!:face-icon-small-win

Hey take it easy on the kid. He's just a young'n. I believe it's 440dart on here that has been running a mod 07-8 700 with twins. You might trying to PM him

Another option would be to just call SLP and inquire about the pipes. They could probably give you the best lowdown on them as far as tuning and what to expect for performance. I'm sure they probably work good but I would think there is a reason they were only offered to racers and not to normal consumers.

I put my pipes out for sale as I bought my sled from someone in MT. Spoke to Dustin at SLP and the way it was setup, it was for 6000' plus with 110 octane. Living in MN, I do ride occasionally around here as well as the UP and needed something that would work here.

Would have liked the horsepower gains, but from what they told me the twins usually are better for top end while the single pipe will usually be a better low-mid range power.

My SLP single kit is on it's way. As said, call SLP, they were more than accommodating on making sure my sled was going to be setup best for me and where I am going to ride.
