Ive always wondered why no one has made any magnesium parts with all the lightweight no budget sled builds out there.

Nice choice!

Well be one light weight, high HP, boondocking machine!
Also one EXTREMELY expensive one.

To answer your question though.... I think magnesium would take to long to manufacture. After how long you wait to machine a finished product you could have found other ways to lighten the sled.

I dont know much about metallurgy, but i dont think the process is much different then pouring aluminum for the blocks. I remember the old cryster/maserati TC's used to come stock with magnesium cast wheels to try to achieve that "performance" feature of the Maserati in the car. They were pricey though!

Im sure its just a price thing, but it would definitely make sense to use them in certain mountain sleds, especially the 4 stroke game!

A Silber turbo is going on this sled this fall and I'll have mine. Can't wait!

Well even the VW beetle had a magnesium block in it....

custom chromoly tube frame(insane light and strong, and i can fix it if i break it)
custom chormoly steering a-arms etc.
cmx belt drive
162x3x16 camo spun by avids
not sure on motor..... was thinking t-rx1 on propane... but now someone offered to buy it.

well, thats the dream, this year its gonna be just short needing the belt drive and the nicer track.

Propane would be awesome. and hey drop a little at a time and there ya go!
4 Strokes would be nice but they are not competative enough to the 2 Smokers if you ask me.

Ha! The only problem i see with that sled is if would run for more then a day.

Every video ive seen it blows up..

Sweet idea though

Ummm......ok. You can keep dreaming about your mini mod all you want. Enjoy.

Rated R only blew up once.....its not a daily rider. Sitting @ CR on display. Costs 300 for fuel that will make a few passes. Has no cooling system so its not gonna make it too far. It really should be in a museum.... Its that cool.

C3 powersports carbon fiber xp chassis with carbon fiber hood, side panels and pod.

Only reason I don't see a 4stroke for me is the weight. Only way I would have one is for monster chutes.... We don't have many nor would I do one.... and Rated R was legit... Really pushed the bar for high HP. Only sled I can see running a 189+ track
