So... I know there are A TON of guys out there making sled films and videos now, and that there is stuff all over the net... but itsw STILL FUN TO SEE!... right? Highcountry Ocatane has been around for years. One rider who started editing the home videos for the crew he rode with. More than 7 years later... his biggest (and ONLY) sponsor is his own checking account (and sometimes his daughters savings account:sorry:) But.... there are people out there that ENJOY them... and THAT is why I do it! Not for the name recognition (though it would be nice to have FANS show up at my funeral along with my ex-wife...) and certainly not for FREE SPONSORSHIP stuff (not willing to sell out my body off 100' cliff for the chance to test out the FREE? Ice Age rails...) I do it... to SHARE our sport, and the TRUE adventure it is! With that in mind... here is the CHANCE TO WIN!!!!

Comment on this post (good or bad... though I honestly like the "good" better, haha) and at the end of the month I will pick 1 LUCKY WINNER to receive the COMPLETE SERIES of Highcountry Octane's sledfilms: "Y2K5-10: The Edge of Sanity", "SLED'DICTION-A Ruby Mountain High" and "SLED'DICTION 2: Re-Loaded"!!!!

The video shows why we live for snow. To have fun and doing what we are passionate about even though we don't get paid to do it. In my opinion it is better that way because then you don't have anyone telling you what you have to do for the next shot. You can have fun and go with the flow.

Keep up the good work.

I like the fact that some of the footage is of the local region. There was a good mix of different type of terrain and styles of riding. However if I had one bad thing to say, it is that it seemed to jump around too much for my taste, even for a trailer. I know you are trying to show as much of the action in the finished product as you can fit in the trailer but sometimes less is more. One might think by looking at it that the movie will also jump all over the place as well. Again this is just my opinion and often with it and an additional $4 I can buy a mean cup of coffee in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

I liked the choice in music plus you can hear the sleds mixed in as well which is good. I personally don’t like all music videos and/or just hearing the sleds. That can get annoying after a while The music you choose had a hard edge but it was not the head bangin type that is often associated with so many sled films and can gets old in a hurry.

Over all looks like you guys had fun making it and that is what counts.. Some of those clips had me wondering what happened in the end which is what make people buy the film in the first place so Good Job. Have a safe season this year.

Thank for your input! Some reason for the jumping around was for the trailer yes. Actually... it is common for a good pull in the Rubies to take over 1 min alone! The songs are usually 3.5-4 min in length, so you could see where 1 pull would take up 1/3 of the song. The full length video has all the action uncut... except for 1 pull I did that took 2min,30sec+!!!!

***REMEMBER: THE VIDEOS ARE FOR SALE AS WELL IF YOUR NOT THE LUCKY WINNER!!! PM if your interested...

looks good for sure. Do you have a website to buy the videos?

Not yet... constantly looking into it, but like I said, since I am wholly funded by my own funds, dont have the bank to pay for a monthly website. PM's on any of the sled forums (including here) will get ya any info your looking for.... including purchase info. I sell the vids mainly to make money for the supplies to produce them... the more that sell, the better chance it would be enough to support a website.

Trailer looks good, plus a free video is a good video :face-icon-small-hap Looks like you guys ride wayyyyyyyyy into the spring/summer.

Actually... that was EARLY MAY! Didnt you hear.... we suffered the WORST WINTER on record last season... NO WAY it was gonna stop us though! (last track were May 12)

Great video, it's nice to see people getting it done on sleds and equipment that the masses can afford, not some ultra high dollar production. Good job!!
