Yeti SS ride reviews

Has anyone gotten out on the 129? With the Camso track and a relatively close impersonation of the camso single rail capabilities it looks to be the one to beat this year.

I'm a bit worried about the float as even the 137 didn't always have enough for my 210 lb arse some days.

Form talking to the guys at yeti. They just got the cut down camso 120" tracks the other day. They have been testing on their cut down tracks. They told me it does everything their 120 wide kit does, but is more nimble, climbs better, and just gunner to ride. If you stop in the powder and punch it, it will trench more then the 120". Less footprint on the ss129 vs standard 120. They are excited about the camso track. It has more square inches of paddle vs the 120 wide kit. They are moving into a new facility, but said the should have more info coming soon to the web.

I believe it as the owner of both a Yeti and a Camso. The Camso is hands down the more exciting rear end. If Camso improved their suspension and lost 20lbs there wouldn't be any competition.

Ill be whipping the SS129 next season. Hear its gonna be a sweet ride ! Some highlights are as follows:

-10" wide Camso track. 44sq inches of lug every 3 rows as compared to current Yeti track at 38 sq inches
-Narrow rails
-Narrow tunnel
-New bumper design for narrow design
-2" narrower drive shaft
-1" narrower jack shaft
-Billet brake caliper
-Single extrovert driver

More to come of course !

At a $5k savings buying the Camso over the Yeti it makes it a bit easier to forgive and live with a few short comings.

Fixing the suspension is another 2k and using the sled cost of $100/lb for weight reduction and they are in the same ballpark.

I really want to like the 129SS just concerned its going to be a underwhelming impersonation of the camso kit. Anyone know when the 2018 camso updates will be released?

Underwhelming ? Why because of the track ? The only thing that makes the Camso even work is the track and its dirt cheap which appeals to some. The rest of the kit is what i call a turd. If your looking for monumental gains this isnt the sport lol. If Yeti can get the same kind of performance of their wide track in this 10" model great. Its kinda hard to expect a 10" camso track to perform as a 12.3" camso track in the powder. This new Camso track does have more lug sq inch but the footprint is smaller vs current Max 2. I would like a Camso kit in the Yeti current width but i believe it hits the tunnel in the corners so a clip may be in order. I dont think you will be able to beat the manueverability with the narrower track but may give up a little deep snow start kind of thing. Track speed will increase imo. I like the Yeti kit. They are down the road from me and i like dealing with Jaimie and Kevin.

Underwhelming in terms of the overall maneuverability and dirt bike like feel. I'll be the first to say the Camso is overweight and under sprung. Once you get beyond that the rear skid, single rail, track, etc is significantly better than anything else on the market. I'm guessing Camso isn't licensing the single rail patent and that's why yeti is going to a 5.5" rail system which is an inch wider than the Camso single rail.

Perhaps I misread but I thought YETI was releasing a narrower tunnel as well for the SS?

FYI Cat owns the patent on the single rail so they would be the ones to loan it out.
