I'm considering the Yeti 120" kit and would like to know about what gearing to buy with the snow check purchase. I have a stock 1996 CR500 engine with a Rekluse clutch and an FMF Fatty Pipe. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

I ran a 129 Yeti with 14/16/43/45. Was nice and fast. My motor was a MRE TWIRP running a Pulse Intake. Thing pulled excellent !

my kx5 has some engine work but i run 41/45 in the belt drive. 15 sprocket on the front. not sure on the rear sprocket but i'll have a look.

with that setup when playing around, i leave it mostly in 2nd. 3rd for a really nice open hill. 4 & 5 for the trail down or on flats.

Ive got a 2014 berg 501 w/588 bb Yeti 129
13/16
41/47
is the stock gearing,
tried 14/16 and 43/47
seems to works alot better, 2nd is a bit more usefull now 3rd is quite a bit longer
but as the snow conditions change to wetter might end up putting the 13 back on the bike
So Potgrinder and Summitboy, why the 45 on the bottom. Thx Glen

Just personal preference. 2nd is a real good fit up top and 5th is plenty fast to keep up with sleds on long rides out.

Going to try gearing mine way down now that it's spring

I'm ordering a Yeti 129 for my 98 CR500 with a pulse jet set up. The stock gearing they give you is 41/45. Just wondering why you would go with 43/45. Is that a lower ratio so you can ride a gear higher? I'm trying to get something close so I don't have to order new gears right away.

its really all personal preference. been running 39/47 in the spring when there arent long rides out.

you dont need the wider belt either. 59hrs on mine this year. still the same belt.

save the money on the belt upgrade and get 3 gears. maybe 39, 41, 47. lots of options there. can always change your front sprocket easy too.
