Yet Another Epic Ride

Had our fall trail ride this past weekend. Some of the best riding in the upper midwest. See what you WA guys think.

Big draw is the trails that run in the river bottoms. Tons of fun when the traction is there, still fun when it's dry. Lots of running on cut down grass...also gets real sandy when you get near the river.

Got brake slide? You literally never go straight for more then 10 yards. constant clutch in and rear brake, then hard on the gas...well unless you have a Rekluse.

Then it's up and out of the bottoms and into the woods for some fun.

Got some skinny bars? Again there is no straight, it's turn and then turn.

Then it's some fun in the pine trees and sand. Really good traction here even when it's dry...and some longer straights so you can build speed for those brake slides!!

More fun in the trees. Getting a little more technical.

Rewarded with a nice overlook...nothing like out west but not bad for flat MN. Gotta like river bluff country

2nd day we did a 50 mile or so loop. One odometer read 65, but we were suspect of that. Probably the most technical of the riding. Not pics cause the 1 2 and 5 was having too much fun for most of it.

Lots of good tight single track that leads up to a good hill. Not real steep but long and tough. Soil is loose sand and loose rocks. 8 inch and bigger just sitting on the top. Group ahead of us had 4 guys spin out. One guy thought he should try all rock and no dirt. Our group had no troubles, just my feet leaving the pegs for a brief time for "balance". No real run at the bottom either, right from tire width track, turn and it's hill.

No go

Rest of the ride was along ridge tops. Pretty tight with lots of big rocks and roots. That lead to sand, and huh more sand. Lots of fun and no pics of that. The 1 2 and 5 sure does better in sand then when I first started...glad it finally figured some stuff out.

All told the only casuality besides arm pump was my father-in-law and his KTM 200.

The real fun of the weekend was the smoked pork dinner and having fun with the families afterwards. You wouldn't believe the kids running around down there. It really is good to see.

Took my youngest for a ride and had the due in 3 weeks wife in the back. The baby sure loves to ride:D Just smiles and says "go go go go"!

Got our oldest on her first ride as well...she's been scared of the noise. To bad it was on that KTM crap. I followed on my bike, she wanted to race...and she won:mad:;)

That's right!

Go team BLUE!!!:D

Great pictures. Looks like a fun trail.

Hey, that sign looks really familiar. LMAO

Looks like a Blast. There's nothing better than when someone FAILS and you get to hang out and take pics of their misery.:p

Guaranteed you wouldn't have covered that much ground if Graveler was with you..................

Lmao the camera and fellow riders chewing up the dirt or cow piles in your case make for a great day in the woods.........a FAIL free day for the blue bikes. Impressive......set a record......

Hey ditch them knobbies, michelin trials, only way to go

I dont care what kind of bike you have, running in the rocks, loose dirt , sand , mud , tree roots, get a Michelin trials tire on and go like crazy, We've been running them for years and nothing compares. Sure, they look "GAY" but hey they work killer

The trials tires are awesome traction ... until you get them on the asphalt! Bad tire choice for a dual-sport if it sees ANY paved road time.
