Yet another broken motor mount.

Man, this is getting frustrating. Are there 4 mounts total? I can see the two on the clutch side, and one on the chaincase side. Is there one behind the silencer? All the rest seem to be intact. At least I found it before it destroyed my clutches again. My dealer has been great and extended my warranty, but man alive, I have not gone more than 3 rides without a major issue. I am thinking this must be indicative of some type of harmonics/vibration issue? ARRRGH. We just got a couple feet of snow too. Makes me want to drive the thing off a damn cliff.

I would have him swap clutches with another demo sled that runs good, at least you would see if it breaks one of those and yours may be much smoother?

Not a bad idea. It was the same one that broke before. Mag side, right behind the recoil rope housing. The bolt did SHEAR off, not back out. I would take pics, but it looks exactly like it did when it happened the first time. Is it possible my whole engine is out of alignment or something?

Not that much really. I can guarantee it is less that Chris Burandt and Dan Adams, both Polaris sponsored riders.

Our local shop has 1600 Boosted miles on there Pro, No motor mount problems what so ever, nor anyone I know of that rides a Pro in the state.

That doesn't surprise me. I know of at least 4 other pros that have not had one single issue. I just don't have very good luck when it comes to sleds I guess.

i have a 2009 assault and i have broke 5 motor mounts on the mag side. it is one piece and its pretty easy to change. takes about half an hour to do. i eventually took one of the new mounts and beefed it up and i havnt had any issues with it breaking since.

I researched that when I broke my first one. If I had a turbo I would probably get one. 650 dollars isn't exactly pocket change. If my dealer wasn't so good I would have ditched this sled a month ago. I have had issue after issue with it and it is becoming tiresome. The 2 new Polaris sleds I have owned have proven to be fantastically unreliable. I love the pro ride chassis, but it doesn't really do me much good when it is in the shop every 3 rides. Sounds like most people are having good luck, but when my warranty is up I can in no way give Polaris any more of my money. I would probably buy another one if they paid me to fly out there and personally watch them build my sled, bolt by bolt. Yeah right, and pigs might fly directly out of my arse. At least other people are having good luck though.

Had one motor mount bolt break, replaced it with a grade 8 bolt and has been fine since. How do I know.... the motor is on my bench waiting for a crank. BTW, the POS is for sale.

I have read about your woes before, and trust me I feel your pain. Nothing worse than spending many thousands of dollars for a machine that you feel like is going to leave you stranded in the hills every time you go out. I had a ride planned today after the 30 inches of snow we got in the mountains and found my motor mount laying in the bottom of my bellypan last night. I am half tempted to just ride the hell out of it and screw the consequences. According to some peeps on here the motor mount bolt used in the pro is of greater strength than a grade 8 (don't know if that is true or not) I can't imagine the torque and stress being put on that thing, it is actually SHEARING off and not backing out. Yet another 2 hr drive to the dealer to get it fixed.:face-icon-small-fro

So I took a look at my motor mounts since hearing about the problem and noticed the bolt under the primary is almost flush with the outer edge of the rubber mount part while the others are recessed in a bit. Is that normal for that bolt or could it be backing out??

Looks like mine is close to flush too. Now I am trying to figure out how to get the broken portion of the bolt out of the damn sled. I need a really long bit and extractor.

Rode mine for two days with the mount under the primary clutch broke. Wasn't going to let it ruin a trip. Ran just fine, and have not broken another since it was fixed.

Your broken one is almost flush??!

I would just make sure that all of them are tight. Get an allen wrench or socket and check it out. I checked mine and they are all ok. I believe they are all recessed and the one by the clutch is almost flush.

Ya, I just didn't want to remove the clutch to check if everyone else's was flush. I already tried to get an allen on it, but can't turn it once in due to access. I'm gonna ride that biaaatch like it's under warranty and hope for the best :D
