What is it with the people that Obama is picking to run this country? Do they all think they are above paying their fair share? He has now selected 3 people that have had tax problems. This latest one was considered for OMB. If she cannot manage her own household budget, how was she supposed to manage the countries? With interest and penalties she owed less than $1000 but she refused to pay so they had to slap a lien on her house. Even then it took her 5 months to pay it.
 
Just think, its only been TWO WEEKS of his CHANGE...keep your change buddy! Ive been trying to stay open minded with this clown but cmon 3 different people hes tried to appoint to highly important positions dont pay their taxes?? I dont know about the rest of you, but $128k in taxes is nothing to sneeze at, and these are the people running the country? All I can say is wow...:confused:
 
its only just begun. Wait a few more months. They can use this 'economic turndown' to manipulate a future horrible decision. Probably war cause thats what the rich powerful guys will tell him to do.

Do people actually think the president runs anyhting? If so...I think thats pretty naive.

Its no different here in Canada though, so....

Daschle is one big POS! I still can't believe SD keeps him in office...I just don't get it. I would think that state would be highly conservative. I love the state and the people there. I go there every year to hunt....everyone that I have met are good down to earth people, but WHY on earth does he still represent your state? :confused:
 
He was defeated by John Thune in 04. He represents himself now.

Daschle wasn't always like he is now. He used to be pretty down to earth, I myself met him more than once. But he got a bit long in the tooth and I think he alienated many of his constituants after he became minority leader. Not sure if the Anthrax thing in his office made him parinoid, but he was not seen very often after that. (his aids were sent in place then). And when he issued responses they were neutral like he didn't want to pick a side. I think alot of people here felt he got long in the tooth and was no longer representing South Dakota's interest and had to go. We had record turn outs to the polls to oust him.
 
The really disturbing thing to me is that prior to their nomination for these positions, Obama and his team had to have gone through some type of background checks such as qualifications, previous public service history, as well as things like not paying taxes, arrests, etc. At some point somewhere in the decision making process, it was decided that they would nominate these folks in spite of whatever they found. And this comes after Obama told the American public during his campaign that he wanted to change Washington and how the American public perceives them.

Ol Charlie Wrangle the chairman of the house ways & means committee really has floundered in it as well. Remember? he was the one who draped an American flag around his neck at Obie's inauguration. Charlie's fat ars has been limo-ed around but Charlie feels he doesn't have to pay taxes on his little luxuries.
 
Obama could always claim he didn't know.

But, didn't he promise NO LOBBYIST?

Daschle was a unregistered lobbyist.

William V. Corr, who lobbied for the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, deputy health and human services secretary.

William J. Lynn III, Raytheon lobbyist for deputy defense secretary

Carol Browner, member of the Socialist International’s Commission for a Sustainable World Society. A group that lobbies for a world socialist government.

Obama's here to "change the way Washington works". Or is it, "change the party that works Washington"?
Obama can talk great, but so far his actions don't represent much leadership.

If you or I were behind 128K (actually it was closer to 140K with fines and interst) in taxes, we would be in jail waiting for a trail.
