Me? nothing.....except no new major purchases and trying like hell to pay off all my bills. Even if there is no collapse its a good idea win win!

We've had a long run, nothing stays the same forever. When I see a nation borrowing money to fix a borrowing problem, a society built on capitalism stealing from the rich to give to the poor, dumping Billions into The Emperors New Climate, and focusing on socializing healthcare while our financial system circles the drain, I don't get a warm fuzzy sensation about our future.

Having said that, I also don't want to live in fear like the conspiracy crowd has for the last 20 years, life's too short. I aspire to have the attitude of an old Roman dude named Paul who said: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."

myself as well, lifes to short to be worried!! just gonna ride it out and see what happens, at some point the people in charge of running us into the ground will totally lose power and things will start over again.
 
Well, I am always glad that my family owns 100 acres in southern Arkansas. Not alot of people around plenty of woods. Plenty of animals. Might be a little rough living but it will be living.

Yep, 250 acres in Middle Tennessee. Way to religious of an area to allow banjo music. My grandfather was happy, just growing a little tobacco, cows, and a huge vegetable garden. I could be also.

But, I don't know if I can be content. Probably be hauled in by the secret thought police, for saying what I think. Lot's of people, like me that can't keep their trap shut, disappear these sorts of "change".
 
Bottom line.
less than 50 percent of the US actually votes or even knows what the real issues are.

Here's how I see it.

The people that are currently running the country are running the country because they are passionit about what they are doing and the people pushing them are also passionate about what what they want those politicians to do.
Now who is actually pushing agenda is the importanct question.
Currently the political agenda isn't being pushed by the american people, it is being pushed by special interests and the BIG money people that run those same special interest groups.
This isn't something that is just liberal or something that was forced on them by those evil conservatives.

This is something that has been building up for over 50 years.

The left has been going even further left, while the right has been drifting left.
Our choices now are, do we vote for a democrat or do we vote for a liberal. There are no real conservatives.

Enter bo and his socialist. They are pushing america left at a pace never seen before and it is waking up the 50% that didn't really pay attention to politics or have been listening to the libs and think that what they want to do is a great thing.

Everything they have done is just talk.
There is NO evidence for what they have done. There is no concrete evidence that all the trillions they have spent is doing any long term good.
All the politicians keep talking about a trillion here, 300 billion there, but no one really realizes what those numbers are or what they will mean to this country.

When people wake up and realize, the chit will hit the fan. There aren't enough true libs in this country to keep the momentum going.

Think of it this way.

Politics is like a giant pengilum. It swings left and it swings right.
Prior to WW2, we as a country were way right.
By Vietnam, the country was starting to swing left.
The younger generations at that time grew up with super conservative parents and a super conservative country. They wanted person freedom and they were willing to get that person freedom at any cost. Anyone who claimed to be able to give that to them they went with. Thus, the hippies were born.
As that generation grew up they pushed that pengilum as far left as they can.
Enter the next few generations.
They see no responcibilities, they see lawlessness. They see corrupt politicians, they see a run away deficit with no end in sight.
They will and are going to start pushing that pengilum right.
They will change the cource of this country and they will reighn in the out of control spending and the out of control social programs.

Bo and the dems got into office promising fiscal dicipline and utter tranparency. They swore there would be no special interest running washington.
Guess what, they lied.
That is why bo's popularity is dropping faster than any elected president in US history.

We are about to see a whole new catigory or politician.
We will see a conservative party once more.

hows that for an answer.
 
IMO the world is moving way to fast. There has been more technological advancemnents in the last 30 years that eclipses any other time period in the history of mankind. I personally do not think that is a good thing. Advancements in the scientific community are downright scary such as cloning, stem cell research, etc. There are just some things that man should not mess with. More countries with nuclear weapons, high population growth, drug resistant diseases. I could go on and on, but one thing is for sure. Anarchy and Chaos will hit mankind someday. Maybe not in my lifetime, but it is inevitable. Throughout history there have been horrific peiods in time.......there will be more.

Now that is something to think about.

Sorry there, prior to WWII we were not right, we were very left. Perhaps socialy we were right but we delayed entering the war far too long. We should have thrown in with the Brits at the time of Hitler invading Poland. The popular position in this country was, it's a European thing let them have at it this time. The horrors of war brought back by the veterans of WWI was a big reason as to why we didnt initially go. It was fairly early in the conflict when Rosevelt knew we would have to chip in and fight the Axis powers. It took Pearl Harbor to wake us up.

Thank God Obama got elected (and not Hillary or McCain). No, I haven't lost my cotton-pickin' mind. Obama is trying to yank this country so far left, so fast he's forced the middle class to wake the f*** up and pay attention.

That's good for conservatives as long as they pull their heads out and come up with a plan (by plan, I mean a sane, rational alternative to the radicals in the leftist Oministration). They also need a sound-byte to sell that plan with (sad, but them's the times).

If Hillary had won the Dem primary and the White House this slide toward National Socialism would have been slower, smoother and quieter. Obama never stops campaigning which is is greatest weakness---He keeps drawing attention to what he's not getting done (well, that, and he's surrounded himself with some seriously shameless America hating freaks)

Next year the Dems are going to lose a gob 'o seats in the House and their filibuster proof majority in the Senate.

Harry Reid and Chris Dodd are going down.
Colorado is wide open.
Barbara Boxer is on thin ice.
Arlen Spector pissed off just about all of Pennsylvania.
Gillibrand (Hillary's replacement in NY) is weak.

In 2012, Obama gets beat unless the GOP puts up another lame-o (If it's Romney/Gregg then it's bye bye Obama by a solid margin despite all the gerrymandering BS the dems will pull with the census)

We wern't ready for the war, it took ahwile to get the war machine moving...had to re-tool the whole nations' industry. By today's standards the nation was extremly right wing.

It took Pearl Harbor to get the masses to wake up, to get the full nations support behind the govmt so they could pull the strings that needed pulled.

I agree with ya, I'm starting to see the glass half full on the Obama presidency. I'm happy he's a lame duck now although he did do a lot of damage and it might be too late to pull back out.

Either we have a total crash and our dollar is lost forever or we have a MASSIVE road to recovery....either one is going to hurt.

McCain or Hillary would have prolonged the slide, BHO shoved us off the cliff.
