Maxima 927 is a great bean oil, honestly it offers great protection.. BUT where bean oils suffer is in the cold. The oil drops into the bottom of the fuel, and basically can't be atomized properly.
Is there any proof that Xylene, tolunene or any other additive is any good at making the 2 mix? I'd a jar and perform your own test in a freezer.
I highly doubt that's a good fix, but if it worked, then castor bean oil offers the best protection imaginable.
There are some other drawbacks to think about, if you run out of gas one day, and have to borrow someone elses gas, which will be either straight gas or some synthetic or blend. Will it mix with what's left in your bike? Not likely.
I run Maxima K2 in my 2-strokes. It's an ESTER based full synthetic that protects really well.. Mixes easily, doesn't seperate.. And doesn't leave much deposits. What else could you want?
I think running any good oil, and enough of it will protect well enough. I'd be more worried about running lean than what oil I'm running personally.
Generally speaking the hardest 2 strokes on oil are those which spin the fastest, thus give the least amount of time for the oil to coat all the surfaces. No matter how finely tuned a big bore you have, it'll never rev like a little scooter, chainsaw, or weedwhacker. It's all about contact time.
That's my 2cents
