If you are talking an 800 'doo, and if he's ANY kind of rider, you'll have your challenge cut out for you. It just won't compete with the 800 in powder (you said on the mountain). Short trackers, I have no experience with, however.

On flat ground, it's no contest. The Apex will kill it. In the steep and deep, it's no contest the Rev will kill it. Add boost and can't even compare them anymore.

if your riding a vector vs a rev!!!!! your going to lose! badly. add boost and then you can brag!:beer;

he has a 07 rev 600 or 800.

never said id b riding my vector and i never said that id b stock:D:beer;

but thats not wat pissed me off.
wat did was wen he said that his rev is lighter and runs better than my vector and any other fourstroke yamaha makes........

just do the power to weight ratio, yama way to heavy, but like already posted yama destroys anything on the streight trail, boosted there is no contest at all.... and atleast they will last too. seen lots of turbo 2 strokes which do not last. so boost the s@#t out of it and ride lol

Sorry, not gonna buy it. I've ridden both, and ridden with both, and although I ride a Nytro, I'm not gonna blow smoke. Stock for stock, the 800 2s will spank the heavier Nytro all day long, until the 2s blows up of course!

That video looked like the Rev was in slow motion....ran like a 600. Don't know if that was a trail model and the Nytro was the MTX (looked like an MTX) or not....I've raced my Nytro up in the mountains in the powder with 'doo's (Summits), and it just won't compete stock. Put a blower or hair dryer on it, though, and it's a different story entirely!!

I only know what i have seen it wasn't up hill threw powder just powder on flat and yes the nytro was the mtx and the skidoo was a summit i don't realy know what track length but its around 153. that wasnt even me on the apex it was one of my riding buddys (cat rider) who spent the afternoon deciding if a yamaha was for him but it really doesn't matter Just provided what he ask for and as long as I'm on snow I could care less who makes it higher up the hill or fastest to the other side of the meadow I just love to ride :cool:
I watched a few guys at the grass drags this year on the skido xp and how easy they could just hop the front end around boy i was envious maybe a doo in my future

Short trackers, as I've mentioned, I don't have any experience with so my knowledge is non-existent. I only know powder riding with mountain sleds, Summits vs. my Nytro MTX. The only time I've been able to outrun a Summit 800 on the flat was when he was in the fresh and I was in a tracked path, unfair indeed......but if you are losing in a fair fight, CHANGE YOUR TACTICS!!! :)

Last spring we had snow drags inn Atlin BC a bone stock Nytro beat anything from the 600 to the stock 800 class a 660 feet race (set up snow) . It took the mod 800s to beat it . There was a turbo XP it blew up before the actual racing started and the 800 turbo dragon was the slowest turbo out there , lost to a RX1 by 5 sled length , gotta love the throttle response on the 2 strokes:D
