Yamaha's from the late 90's early 00' ?????

I know the models, good and bad with late 90,early 2000 Polaris sleds, but could someone give me run down on Yammy from that same era?

Sleds that were similar to RMK 600 or 700's or even if they had a fan sled those years. It needs to be the Mountain version, not a short track.

Thanks

Mountian Max 700 97-99s were 136" stock. 00 was the first year for 141" and better approach angle.
Any year MM700 is a good sled, however 00 and latter are better due to the skid and longer track.
You can ride a MM700 like it's rental, and they just keep going and going! Even with mods they'll run forever.:face-icon-small-coo

Yup, I'd pass on the 97 to 99 600's because they were twins that made low power (105) and used more oil and gas than the 700 mountain max triples that made somewhere between 111-114 hp. stock. The 700 engines were great but the approach angle of the 1999 and older weren't so hot.

I'd look for a 2000 or newer 700 Mountain Max. Although, the 2000 and newer 600 mountain maxes used sleeved down 700 triple engines and all of these triples play the national anthem of snowmobiling.

Put a set of triples on the 700s and and you are knocking on the door (if not beyond) 140 hp. These sleds rip, use very little fuel or oil and are as relaible as an anvil.

Good Luck

I agree with these guys. We still have (5) 2000 & 2001 Mountain Max's in our group. They get the snot beat out of them. We never have to fix them or "fine tune" anything on them to keep them running great and they're always reliable! I still miss my old one!

i ran both the mm700 and the msrx, both were bullet proof, and they were full mods! over 5000km on the mm in mod forum same on msrx. great old sleds.

I agree with the mm700 had one slightly modded odometer stopped at 9400km prob has 15000 on it now there bullit proof. wouldent dream of touching the engine.
as for the fan cooled they had a phazer mtn lite its a 485cc good for teens or women they are very lite and if left stock or close to it realy reliable. i think in 99 they went to the mm style chassie before that they had the pogo stick front suspension but you couldent hurt them well i never bent one lol

I have a 00' MM 700 w/ triple pipes 151" track pushin' 145 hp and I love it ! When I breakdown and get the new Apex I will always love my 00' MM It ain't goin' nowhere.
