Yamaha Patent? here's the answer I'm waiting for

You would have to think that the big players have taken notice of whats been going on.
I'm sure in the next year or two there will be snow only bikes coming with good power and design.
I like the idea of a sprag clutch for free wheeling of the track.Get ready because its gonna happen soon!
What a fun time:clap2:

Dang things look to be getting serious with oems... Some interesting things going on with that thing.

Cat has one, now Yamaha. Who's next? There rumors of pics of a BRP snow one. The sport is growing.

Ya i did notice the date on the patent.Still it is an exciting time to see what is going to be coming out in the future! The design pictures were pretty cool to look at, you got to admit:face-icon-small-coo

The new 2016 Nissan Titan has the 5.0l cummins v8 diesel. That engine started life in 2006 and just going into production for next year.
So Yamaha may still have something in the works?

This is one of many patent applications for a stand alone snowbike like device. Mr. Sadakuni, Mr. Takamoto, and Mr. Hughes being the Yamaha Engineers for drawings, or blue prints, for proof of concept. Was a prototype ever built? Probably. Was enough field testing, R&D, changes done to go into production? Probably not. You see the bean counters at Yamaha have the final say on production numbers, like any major top heavy Corporation. Did they see the cost of build, and potential sales in and around 2007 as justifying production? Obviously not. The market did not exist, in any significant numbers.

Now it's 2015 and we all know who the trail Blazers in the Snowbike industry are. The Big Boys have been watching, and are now strategically preparing to launch their version based on the Blazers proof of concept, production and market share.
