yamaha exciter motor with decompression heads??

im rebuilding a 1993 yamaha exciter for my little brother and just want to know if anyone know what the things that are sticking off the cylinder just above the carbs and what there used for, they look the decompression switches of some sort.

yes its a 1993 sx frame motor was outta 87-90 so i was told i just dont know what the things are for or if i really need them and can i take them off and hook something for heat of some sort i dont know, i just want to know what they are there for and why, sorry i should have mentioned that it has a different motor but it is a 1993sx and i can get some pics if you want them.

All right thats what we needed to know!
decompression system, not used on the SX I would have to say they are not hooked up? Don't really have to do anything with them just let them un-hooked. I removed and pluged them just so I didnt have to worry about they leaking
