yamadoo spitting oil?

I have a yamadoo with a vector turboed engine. I ran the engine in a vector chassis with the same setup last year. I have changed a few things, mainly the oil tank and the oil overflow/water separator/thingy to a mpi oil tank and mpi aluminum overflow/water separator thingy. I can't beleive that would be causing the problems I am having with it slowly pumping out oil from the overflow. The overflow thing is mounted higher in the sled than last year and I am wondering if this could be a problem. Also the mpi one is actually smaller than the stock one.

I had this problem last year when I over filled the oil tank but this year I thought it was the same and it wasn't because it ran out till the light came on.

Either way i need help I can't have this spewing oil till the light comes on? What are some options?

. . . .

did you do any motor work ,compresion ok !did you up the boost.

YEp, lowered compression with head shim and changed cam timing to powderlites specs. I have not check the compression but it runs like a top, best it has ever ran for me. I am very happy with that. Power is much more linear and I have the bov working how I want it finally.

I did some searching on ty4 last night and found a old past from powderlites explaining that the nipple(vent) on the mag cover has only a .080 hole in it. So I should really not be using that for a return from the oil separator/breather thing. I am going to just put a long hose on that and route it up to the top of the sled, and then put a nipple in the timing sight hole plug to drain the oil back. I am sure I am getting more blow by this year do to the decrease in valve overlap and the fact that I didn't gas port the pistons like pl reccommends. I hope that this fixes the problem.

FYI, I am running a bit more boost this year as well.

Put 3 oz of seafoam down each cylinder. Turn it over by hand for a couple of revolutions. Let it sit overnight and fire it up. Let it idle until its warm. That cleans the rings and really helps stop any blow-by on my rx-1.

Seafoam?

What type of sea foam? Just the injector cleaner stuff? How does the seafoam hit the entire ring with the engine tilted back so far? Would it be best to lift the rear of the sled a bit to help give a even amount around the piston? I know that the rx1 motor sits a little more vertical in the chassis.

Also how often are you doing this? Monthly Yearly?

New Drain back for the oil.

Sounds like the majority of the problem was your drain. I lift the back of the sled so the motor sits as level as possible. And yes, just the white and red can of seafoam carb cleaner. I do mine once a year.

Overflow

I think that the different drain will work for me. If I find out I have alot of blow by still I will seafoam it. I think a trip is in store to the car wash to get all the oil off the darn thing though.

MPI makes a nice billet hose adapter for the plug in the top of the valve cover. I think that it fits a 5/8 hose. I use it to help releave PSI on the top end.

Do you think there is a real need to vent the top end? I could easily make one out of the stock one, but I don't wanna add more places for oil to come out or water to get in.
