Coming from the old forum, Mountain fit has not had a good reputation. I talked to bill a couple years ago at the spokane show and decided to take my business elsewhere, he didn't give me the impression that he cared about much but my wallet.
 
Bill was ok to me but very hard to ever get ahold of took 2-3 weeks at times to get a call or E-mail back.
 
I bought some vents from Modrods and one of them broke shortly after. I sent them and email with pics and the next week I had a brand new replacement vent - no charge. That's what I call customer service.

like i said my hood broke,i understand trial and error thats how we get better if you dont fail you never tried.i was happy with bills service at puyallup very nice actually but i did try to get ahold of him several times via internet now i realize his site was down.thanks for being stand up bill appreciate it i was the guy that grabbed the wrong hood at show got along ways away and someone caught me.i had a m-series hood in my hand.looks like ill be getting one from bill for my m1000.heres my email bill sunbather1969@hotmail.com like i said stuff happens it broke i understand this

Thats odd, I called and ordered vents from mountain fit on friday. I had first contacted xxxmods about there vents for the RT but got an " I'm too busy type of answer " not rude but rather then help me I felt dismissed. When I called mountain fit, he was super nice and helpfull, we even ended up talking about the up coming expo in puyallup for a while and that was late in the day on the friday before a three day.

After my dealings with both I got great service from mountain fit, and hope the vents for my RT1000 are just as good.

Now, I placed that order on the friday before labor day and was told they were in stock and it would ship on tuesday due to the long weekend, and that normal freight to my area is only a day or two.... so thursday or friday of last week I should have been seeing the package , right?

I sent an email with no responce, but did notice there was time for mountain fit to post in this thread but not respond to a customer... so I try to call today and it says something about " this cricket number has been disconnected " and they have my credit card info.

At this point I have not been charged but would like my vents... I thought I should update, I'll be the first to admit I was wrong and as of now it seems I was as if, I was....

Mountain fit if you read this and there has been a mistake please let me know.

i know cricket sucks for service and doesn't work outside the 30 mile bubble they give you, and bill is driving home from minesota which is why his phone aint working. im gonna stop by his shop tomorrow nite cause hes suposed to be there and ill make sure he reads this thread so he knows who needs there stuff.

thats funny i remember you. i was the guy that chased you down outside and got you the right hood.
 
If anyone needs vents and can not get ahold of Bill contact me,I am a dealer for Bill/Mountainfit and have most in stock ready to ship.

Bill like most of us works long hard hours and is running the show himself so getting emails,phone and build products can take time. He knows that and is doing his best to get it all done and replies to everyone interested and building done at same time.

Bill by no means is a millionaire making his millions doing this but tries his best to please everyone. He knows that customer service at times may be slower but has his reasons and he knew this is all associated with having a business and a life at the same time. Give him a chance as he is working at customer service and he will take care of anyone interested with top quality products and trust me pricing like no other vent company around.

So if anyone needs to get ahold of Bill/Mountainfit for any questions or needing to get vents/hoods and can not get through to Bill give me an email or pm for your needs as mentioned have most in stock. SO LET ME KNOW HOW I/1100CAT CAN HELP OUT WITH MOUNTAINFIT PRODUCTS EITHER IN PRODUCTS,QUESTIONS OR SOMETHING I MAY BE ABLE TO PASS ON TO BILL MYSELF.

And no I do not ride with Bill, nor his neighbour, nor his best friend but am with him on a business level as a dealer for his products. He has always got me the products needed on time to sell to my customers and pricing that I can give back to help us sledders save a few bucks over the competitors. He has always done his best for me and I consider a friend/business partner that I have actually never meet and live miles and miles from him and his business.

So Give myself or Bill/Mountainfit the opportunity to prove we can deliver the products of top quality on time and at an affordable price.

i have never had any problems getting product from mt fit. ordered and installed 30 xp vent kits in 08-09. good fit , price and service. now that the stories are out there it's time to start ordering. see ya at the show mt fit....

Bill is a good guy. But is lacking in the PR skills dept. like calling people back.
Like i have asked for the last 3 years for vents at the Puyallup show and i was told oh i dont have any of those. I will have them for sure next year and next year came - oh dont have those. Come by my shop and i'll hook u up so i drive to his shop a half dozon times. Guess what not there and no point in calling. Tell me if im wrong Bill.

So on that note i am glad Brian and Brad started ModRods.............

Brian and Brad are friends of mine and i just ordered hood and bellypan vents at cost, which is the way friends should do it RIGHT? I have not heard anything bad about ModRods ever so i will leave it at that.

IMHO:..........this is a thread that should NEVER had been started. These are 2 local businesses that have a lot of friends here and out in the riding and working community. A thread like this cause nothing but trouble and makes for or increases any harsh feelings out there.

Business is Business and what goes on between them is not the publics interest. If a person has a bad experience with one the they will go else where..........but to post on an open forum in the way this thread was started.....was, in my opinion, bad taste.

You know how it goes...........your story, their story and then the truth.


Being these are locals..........I would think this thread being deleted would be in the best interest of all involved...........but thats just my 2cents, more like 10, but you get the point.
 
I agree, I think this thread was the reason I was quick to think the worst of my from someone. The truth is the guy is busy and yes they did not ship in time but he was attending hayday from what I understand and that was the delay... yes there are ways to make this better, I would sugest an auto reply on your Email so when your out of town it lets people know your gone and will get back to you, and a land line with Voicemail and change the message when you are going to Out of Office. This is a huge help for small bussiness when you are busy or away from the phone working on the products you sell, I think it would end up resulting in more bussiness over all. Bussiness communications is my Bussiness!!

I'd like to see the thread gone...
 
Talked with mountain fit hoods today, the guy i talked to about a apex hood seemed good and product sounds tough for a fair price. So ill be getting one from him.
