xrs running hot...snowflap?

took the 121 07 xrs with 1.75 track for a run the other day, snow was frozen early morning so not a lot of cooling, there was 137'' sleds and a 144 nitro they ran fine but my xrs would run hot every 3 to 5 miles, even running 50+mph down the lake, i have the large snowflap the race flap i think its called on my sled and one of the guys noticed the flap was almost fully extended running the lake and all the snow was shooting out underneath, question is do you think this flap would make such a differance compared to the regular/stock snowflap? strange thing is i never had an issue with this sled running hot before but can't recall if snow conditions were as hard either.

For my XRS with the 1.75 track, I always had the scratchers deployed in situations like this. Also the snowflap was critical in keeping cooling snow/ice up in the tunnel. Your sliders may also have been dragging due to minimal snow lube and causing engine overheating. The type of running you were doing is out of the realm of your 1.75 track without scratchers. 550iq

as the sun made snow conditions better i still had overheating issues, as the snow softened to the point you could easily glove it up to throw on the tunnel and slides i could get more milage between overheating but i have run the sled in similar conditions without issue and the 137''s and 144 1.75 didn't have any problem....they all had scratchers down for the first hour or less then never had to use them...i strongly belive the race snow flap is the problem or i have engine issues...just looking for help/ideas thanks
