Step away from the pipe son.....
You need to talk to "trackpoucher" he's going to be the new sherriff in town as soon as he lands an m1000.

it should be in the worst conditions with hot clutches and hard ridden all day then race em to see which sled is actually the better sled..here is what needs to happen....
1 2008 m1000 sno pro 162 stock with a proper setup
1 2008 rev xp X 800r 163 stock with proper setup
1 2008 dragon 800 163 stock with proper setup
one rider, one hill, same day, same hour.
all with warmed up engines, but cool/clean clutches and belts
best of 3 runs
my guess is that on the hill the m1000 because it is just pure hp/torque
across the field who knows, they will all probably be pretty close. who knows, maybe the dragon will smoke the xp.....when you can get it!
in the end all are probably great sleds that will get you places you probably shouldnt be. i love my cat and im sure others love theirs cats, doos and poos.
Spent 2 days in Revy last week, 2 M1000's clutched, ypipe, can, air intake, head and 163, we had an 06 rev 151 with nitrous and 827cc (I think) and new Rev xp 154 with clutching, airbox opened up, can.
I tend to have green blood from coming off 2 King Cats, and am M1900, for the last 5 years imo the BRP 800's have never been close, while this year they sure the heck are. I was really impressed with the xp, it hauls arse. Hill climbing it could not hang with the 1000's or the 827 but all around this looks like a great machine. It was alot closer than I thought it would be, good rider on the xp will really look good this year.
Funny there was probably 10 xp's out there as soon as the saw us on the 1000 they came hunting usually not for long but don't forget the mods to our 1000's. If it were stock for stock I really think the 800 and 1000 would be really close. First time I've ever considered a BRP seriously for my next sled.
5 days in revy 08 m1000 162, 08 xp 800 163 , 05 kk 162 and others ,m1000 had boondocker box sled shed stinger ,snowpro intake , xp was stock picked up at dealer on the way (thanks marvin at trackside in Olds Alta for staying 2 hours after closeing time) both 0 miles 400 miles at end of trip both setup not perfect yet, flip a coin who would win climbs in fresh powder , both riders agree that m was harder to carve with than xp but seemed to have more torque and kk was way back just my 2c from someone who was there rideing the sleds and not a computer
say it aint so JB,,
i know mine can beat an xp!
nate that is a tough question...

you and me both..Yup getting older and fatter, light weight XP looks pretty nice.
Why is it the "800" XP always gets compared to the M "1000" ,and not to the M "800" ,Why not compare apples to apples? This subject always makes me glad I own Skidoo.
I may end up being a deputy after my last event when Mini handed me my walking papers with his M1000 but am going to earn my new sherriff badge when my new M1000 gets dialed in. This time no chit talk till it has proven itself. WHICH the XP did NOT!
Its simple why they are being compared to each other, its called power to weight ratio.
As posted earlier
Box stock weights
M1000 (07 162) wet 619lbs 165hp (weights from wyoming T/A's wet weight thread)
xp 800 163 wet 535lbs 151hp
put a 200lb rider on each sled.
Cat 819/165=4.96 lbs/hp
Doo 735/151=4.86lbs/hp
Then your talking a pissin match on the side of a mountain, In a sanctioned event like Jackson hole hill climb etc its cc's against cc's. ie apples to apples.
