I am running a turbo performance Garrett kit I was wondering what everyone else is running for a turbo pipe?

Stock on mine. Going to change to pipe pressure for fuel and then wrap.

How do you like the BR tech parts on your sled? It looks great.

I will be using a spi pipe on mine when i get the turbo on, I think it should be a good choice because it provided great bottom end with no turbo, and has no internal stinger

if you are going to use stock pipe remove the stinger because it falls off and we all know where thats headed and also weld it all the way around.

had really good luck with a good weld job on a stocker. LOTS of miles and she held awsome.

a good BOV is super helpful as it helps deal with pipe pressure spikes.

I have had a cpi on mine ever since I turboed it. It has blown apart a few times though. I am not a expert pipe builder so don't know if my terms are correct, but.. their are the big sections that are welded together. the big sections have a kind of stamped pinch weld on the length side of the pipe and those sections are actually welded together. the pinch welds crack. I had it crack one time within the first week of turboing it and just that section was repaired. then a couple months later another spot was cracked. then I had all of those welds gone over by the fabricator I use and it didn't crack all of last season. Wrap it all with header wrap. I use dei titanium header wrap. 2" wide by 50' roll. stuff works great. keeps under hood temps down and I think it runs just a touch better.

Thanks for all the replies I ordered a c p I racing turbo specific pipe we will see how she works.

I forgot to mention that. It was a turbo specific pipe that I ordered from cpi. cpi makes it with a little bit thicker gauge metal and it is specifically made and designed for turbo's.
Don't use a normal cpi pipe designed for a NA sled on a turbo sled.
Also forgot to mention that after I header wrap it I put two high quality hose clamps over the fat section of the pipe. cheap hose clamps from home depot will break in a couple weeks. I got these from parker/fluid connector. I did this to hopefully hold the pipe together and cut down vibrations in the pipe. Like SLP does on their pipes. You can actually order the hose clamps (good ones) and a strip of header wrap from slp.
I paint the pipe with VHT flame proof paint before I header wrap it. Best to have a local powder coater aluminium oxide blast it before you paint it or the paint runs super easy. It will also flake off after it gets hot a few times if you try sanding it or don't prep it at all. The spots you don't sand it really well is where it will flake. you will spend hours and hours trying to get it all sanded down good. I got it blasted by the place I use all the time for $15.

Here are a few pics of what I have done so far on the turbo CPI pipe with my own connections.

dont mean to be debbie downer, but dont use those flex things, i bought a REALLY nice one and had it on my yamadoo... blew out after maybe 600 miles. thats why boondocker stopped putting them on the sidemount apex's..

2 strokes should last longer as they are less pipe heat.. but still, hate to see your turbo eat something because of it.

I have the same therory about the header wrap and the hose clamp, That is what I have planned for mine.

That's not what I wanted to here I got the idea from my turbo builder. Also I got the ones from vibrant that are made for turbo applications they have a interlocking inner so they hopefully will hold up I already cut the head pipe down.

You have to buy ones ones the will hold up to boost pressure, vibration, and heat. Alot of guys only use the ones that you buy at the auto parts store. Those one will not work because they do not have a ss sleeve. Vibrant sells like three differnt ones. Yours are built for that application.

maybe i did get some cheeper ones. who knows.. i hope they work out.. just didnt want to see you throw something together and have to cut it apart and reweld after a few rides.
