XP or Rev

What I dislike is the change in handling from the REV
I also am displeased with the fit and finish of the sled. Some items were changed for the sake of change(clutch and cover - try putting this back on in the dark)
With the challenge of making this the lightest production sled I don't believe this sled will last me like my REV did, and I am very light (145 lbs) BRP made some parts too lightweight without any strength.

What parts are you talking about? I wouldn't go back to a Rev for nothing. The XP is allot better handeling sled than the Rev. It goes higher, it's faster, and is easier to boondock with IMO!

I'm sure you wouldn't find any problem finding someone to trade you an 06 Rev for your XP if you wanted.

I have gotta agree on the fit/finish comment... :(
That said with a little tinkering I have been able to overcome the few shortcomings and I love my XP! It just does everything I ask of it so easily. :)

I hava an 08 XP and an 04 rev, both great sleds. I had them both out Saturday and I haven't ridden the rev in a while til then, so here's my take: I like the riding postion better on the XP, I get stuck way less often and it climbs much better than the rev. I really enjoy riding this sled. XP is much lighter.
I do like the rev a little better for playing in the powder, it pulls over easier and carves better. I'm putting on the sway bar disconnect on the xp, I think it will improve.
Ride them both, see what you think.

The Rev chassis feels very dated once you ride the XP for a few days...IMO of course. Get the XP and don't look back.

Same here.

I snowchecked the wife a 09 XP 600 E-Tec, and I'm riding my trusty 06 Rev. They are both great sleds, but if the wife doesn't ride, I'm riding her XP. :D

this is for XP owners - now that you have ridden the XP - do you wish you still had your old rev? I would sooner have bought an 06 Rev than this XP:mad:

Dont ignore the obvious. Many hours on both but for Mt. riding I need footwells, A fully modded rev will outcarve a XP. I use the leverage and can get far more aggressive with wells.the XP footwells are useless unless your sitting down and then there great, The Rev needs the Timbersled front end which changes the geometry[ Moves skis 1 inch forward and increases caster} and will turn sharper than a XP. The XP is the only Mt. Sled which you cannot use the footwells at all "standing up" Everyone I ride with on the XP cannot crank out tight shoulder dragging turns edge to edge, They fall off! I know this post will piss off XP owners. Its not for me and would switch brands to get footwells which are useable if the Rev wasnt an option.

Exactly, not to mention the seat edge by the tank snags your boots when moving from one side to the other.
Maybe some things about the XP are better, however for me overall - not that impressed. I will likely look to another brand when I am done with this.

i have a rev but i have riden xps a fair bit and love them compared to my rev but i find i can do better nuts with the rev. but i will trade you straight up for your xp if you want:D:beer;

I would have to dis agree I can turn tighter turns on my 163 XP then I could on my 151 Rev. As for using the the foot wells, you will find the sled works better if you weight is a little further back. I have and had simmon skies on both sleds. but the XP is tons easier to ride. I am a little guy at 5'7 150lbs. Maybe that make a difference but for me there is no comparison. The Xp is a million times better. FYI I ride in Big Steep Mountains. I have helped a few of my friends ride differently and once they got the center of weight down they love the XP's.

I had an 07 Rev and I now have an 09 XP. There is a difference in riding, but not that much. On the Rev it seemed like the riding style was to pull back a little and to the side to get it up on it's side, but on the XP it seems like a more direct side to side. I can sit down and get the xp to side hill easily. I couldn't do that on the Rev. I for one, love the XP. It's been great. The Rev was a little work house. I had a 151 and I've moved to 163. I'm more comfortable with the 163 now and can turn it better than the 151 too. Try removing the sway bar in the powder on the XP. That might make a differance for you.

I skipped over the rev to get on an xp from a zx, have rode revs before and must say the ease of riding the xp is second to none. On the trail, there is minimal "feedback" on the steering and in the pow, it carves like nothing. I was able to carve my zx pretty easily too but on this xp, i can leave my feet planeted where they belong and still pull it over on its side and carve circles like its going out of style. I am a bit of a fat bastage at 200 lbs and only 5'8" and think this might help. Being so short, i am comfortable with my feet jammed into the footwells and leaning over, the machin just seems to float from side to side. I have ridden a D7 and it seemed to do pretty good too, but the foot wells were just a little too far back for me. Great machine none the less. Id like to try out a newer M sled to see just how good this doo really feels.
