Xp gas tank.

Just got a 09 xp. first ski doo for me and really love it. My problem is i fill it up at the gas station and by the time i get to the parking lot to unload i only have maybe 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank of fuel if that. Im guessing with the tank design i need to lift the front of the sled to get all the air out?

are you sure you only have 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank? you can put a 2.5 gallon container or more of gas in the sled? If so you have a serious problem and a leak somewhere.

Their is a air pocket in the back of the tank. Fill the sled up to the neck. Then push the back bumper all the way down. Then you will be able to add about 3/4 gallon more gas.

My sled has the same issue. All I do is fuel up ant the end of every ride. The next day I ride, I fuel up again on my way back to the pass (usually takes under 2 gallons).

I guess I will have to try to shake mine some more next time to see if I can get more in. I fill it all the way to the bottom of the neck. push on rear bumper and add about .7-.8 gallons more to the bottom of the neck again.

I noticed the same thing on mine, which is an '08...
I pulled it back onto the ramp going up into the trailer (nose up) and added easily a gallon if not more.

Ditto on the air bubble

My 08 does the same thing. I had a friend tell me about how to burp the air out and now I do it every fill up. I've also noticed that mine takes closer to 2 gallons after burping. I think it has to do with the trailer I tow on. My trailer tends to sit lower in the front than in the back so that its not level on the deck. This makes it more prone to trapping air cause the back of my sled is even higher than the front.

Had a good look at mine today with the seat off, and the rear of the tank (due to the rise of the tunnel rearward) sits noticeably higher than the middle of the tank. From the looks of it I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 2 gallons...

good to know that would explain the difference in mileage every time i fill, one would think with all the engineers at BRP they could figure out something as annoying as that. Oh well, still better than a Yamaha, if you had to lift the front to finish filling you would need a crane on standby at the filling stations.
