another season gone and a new one on the horizion. was wondering if anyone knew if doo was going to put two braces in the xp chassis that they use in the 600 race sled that the production sleds didnt get .
we saw a lot of sleds come thru our shop last winter that had clutch alignment problems due to the movement of the lower frame and top a arm area's.
problem was more noticable with an aggressive rider who attacted the trails going up and doing big air drops .
just about every 08 with around 1000k showed some movement .09's were good till they achieved some miles as well.
overall sled performance was effected and most noticable at working elevations .
a very common complaint was the lack of rpm and an excessive belt heat and wear issue.
on the older rev chassi when a guy hit a tree or stump or other hard hidden objects the damage was a lot more obvious than on the xp chassi . and hard trail ridding didnt show the clutch alignment moveing on the previous chassi.
was hopeing doo would include the two braces for 2010 or make them available thru there accessories catalogue anyone know??
the lack of rpm was a common complaint but clutch alignment wasnt the only contribuitor.
the electronics package had some contribution to running woes but isnt as obvious and is harder to solve .
another question we ran into was on the older rev if you wanted to test a sleds brain you could swap your buddies brain and tether and see if the in question symptom changed .
on the xp you need to swap the brain and tether and instrument cluster .
trouble is this is a lot tougher to do and not a field test as we have done on the hill in the past .
back to question , has any one on the xp had a bad instrument clucter and did it have any performance related concerns fixed ??
