Xp clutch bushings 600 bucks ?

WTF ? SO THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALERSHIP THIS WAS GUNNA BE COVERED UNDER MY SECOND YEAR WARRATEE , THEN THEY CALL ME LAST NIGHT AND SAY IT WONT BE COVERED AND IT WILL COST 600 BUCKS ? i'M LIKE WTF ?
DOESNT THAT SEEM A LITTLE REDICULOUS ? ESPECIALLY SINCE THE SLED IS BARELY OVER A YEAR OLD AND ONLY HAS 700 MILES .
SEEMS TO ME THAT i SHOULD BE ABLE TO SICK AFTER MARKET CLUTCH FOR LESS THAN THAT !
ANY INPUT PLEASE =]
I HAD A 07 RMK 600 TRICKED TO THE MAX BESIDES A TURBO AND i PUT 1600 OR 1800 MILES ON IT LAST YEAR WITOUT ONE PROBLEM OR HAVING TO EVEN CHANGE A BELT .

Unfortunately par for the course.
Buddy toasted his clutch last year, he had to buy all individual parts and it was almost 1g:eek:
I did some checking for him and sure enough the prices were right.
One of the reasons I would not own a doo.

You sure that isn't for the whole clutch? I just looked at the online parts fische and it looks like the whole clutch if pieced together is about $600. I looked at every bushing in the drive clutch and they don't total over $150.

parts and beer huh ?
thats the coolest thing I've ever heard !
do you wanna be my new mechanic ? haha jk
but the sheeve needs to be replaced too , can you get the parts ? bushings rollers ramps ect. ?

when you say "sheeve", you are talking about a clutch half right?....what in the world happened to it? can you post some pics? A new clutch half would need a complete clutch balance.

post some pics of the damage

yes I cant post pics cause it's at the shop , but he showed it to me and yes it is half of the primary clutch, the hole In the middle was worn down and there is a small piece missing... from the bushings going out completely I guess ?

Wow.

I'm going to predict that crank is not long for this life.

I think thats the first good thing I've heard about the edge .
no I havent done clutch maintenance b4 , but the service unit report shows this has already been done ... the mechanic at high adventure motorsports said there's no way it was done then or it wouldnt be in the shape it's in now .
I called BRP this morning and complained !

If its the Sheeve then that price sounds about right, Might as well get it fixed right. Take some time to clean the clutches once in a while..but only 700 miles, that doesn't make any since. Call all the dealers around you till you find someone who wants your business, they should take care of you being a new sled and all.

I have the Same dealer, There is another guy that frequents High Adventure with the same name as I have. Last year they got us confused a couple of time, I wonder what my history shows as I have also had serious clutch problems!

The new Doo service system stores sled data by VIN. You can take your sled to any dealer and they can pull up the entire history of service, both in and out of warranty. I've been told I don't need to carry around the BEST warranty cards because of the new system.

Yes, BUT....The dealer has to input the information, if he can't keep the people straight?????????????????
