Do you check the full level with the square plug by the rt foot? How tight is the chain supposed to be? I have a 163 and was wondering about a shorter chain to loose the dogleg.

Yes, the fill plug is the check level. The chain is pretty tight from the factory; like 1/2" of play on the non-adjuster side. Some people measure play in the secondary to check tension. Lock the brake and look for 5-6 mm of play in the outside edge of the secondary. If you spend your time in the steep and deep, switch to a 104 pitch chain and a 19 tooth top gear.
