Hey all,
I got a 2009 Summit X 154. I have a little over 1200 miles on it this year already. Love half months off
... Anyways I have blowing alot of belts already. It started out good I got 500 miles out of my first one the 100 out of my second and then blew two within 5 miles. WEIRD! Anyways I looked in the Shop manual for alignment on the clutches, I see the diagram just making sure on how to do it. What tools are needed, and can someone explain where to measure off of... I heard running a 288 (RS race belt) if fixing belt life. So I have one and I am going to try it. Also going to order a DJ clutch kit for it. I have vents on each panel on the lower sides from JC custom vents and it seems that the screen maybe a little to large on the clutch side vent and it allows snow in when I am laying it over on its side. Could that cause heat build up with snow getting in a causing slip so belt is just getting to hot? Also my last two belts the strings have came out on the inner side of the belt.. I hear that when strings come out the most common fix is clutch alignment so that's why I think its that. Can someone just explain how to align them up where to measure off of, what tools needed. That would be great. Thanks ALOT!
