XP After Market Belt Adjuster

Has anyone installed an after market belt adjuster on there xp yet? How do you like it? I have been looking at them. I finally saw the new one coming out from skidoo but it isnt available yet. Currently looking at the goodwinperformance one but if anyone else has one they have used, please let me know which one it is and how you like it. Thanks..

I picked up the billet aluminum version from Big John. Much easier to use and easy to install. I believe a paid $75 for it.

I have the same one from big john and I love it. It's so much easier to use then that piece of **** from ski doo

The the adjusted on the 09' looks very simple to use, is this BJ one better ?

Also, you guys keeping that plastic lip in the clutch cover ? Looks like a heat trap to me:confused:

the difference is you don't have to use that crappy tool ski-doo gives you, because that tool always slips. you only need a allen with big johns and setting your belt deflection is so much easier with this. the only thing ski-doo did different is make that ring metal instead of plastic. order it from big john you'll be much happier. worth every $

With the billet adjuster from Big John you still have to use the tool from Ski Doo to adjust the deflection. The tool goes all the way in though so you never have to worry about it slipping off.

Darko...I have heard of guys removing the plastic piece on the guard and then have trouble with the clutch rubbing the side panel in deep snow or pulling over on the clutch side. I personally left mine on and just relocated the tool kit.

For 09 skidoo also made the little holes deeper so that your tool doesnt slip out quite as easy.

The '09 163's come with the NEW style adjuster, just thread in a tool like changing the belt on a TEAM and it returns to the preset deflection. No more knuckle shredding when the tool slips out of the goofy plastic adjuster. Only the 163's get the new adjuster.

I musta got the "new" style. 2 set screws with nuts on the back and a spot for the belt changing thread tool. No plastic either.

Now whoz got the fancy anodized blue quick clickers that use the stock bolt ? (Someone told me on a PM but i deleted it !?) Thx

Thats not fair! Kinda seems retarded that not all the 09's came with this. I got hosed Tommy! I got hosed.

How does that goodwin adjuster work? Does it have a piece behind that star looking thing that threads into the jack shaft? Does it use a L-shaped tool to spread the shives aswell? Thanks..

Maybe there will be a update?;)

I updated information on new style and that currently no update for machines with plastic style

There will be an update on this issue, depending on when product is available in the quantities, From what I understand at this time it goes like this.

It was a production change part way through season, only option that there is at present is to purchase the new style/tool and then have it installed, weither or not this will change.

Like I said give it a small amount of time before you bombard the dealers with questions or requesting the new style adjuster.

I will try to update when I have a solid answer.
