I know the jaws twins are new on the market for the 860 big bore I am just wondering if anyone out their is running them and if they are having good luck with them. I just ordered mine today and all I do is Mountain ride and just wondering if anyone has any info on them. thanks any info is appreciated.

you can get the thermostat you need from ken at specialty, I will be running an 860 on the dyno next week and would like to try the jaws pipes on the dyno vs the dyno port, are you near edmonton? or does anyone have a set near edmonton we can try?

All you need to do is remove the t-stat and put in a couple pvc elbows to connect the plumbing. I ran mine with the t-stat, and it ran great. Once I removed it, it ran even better and cooler.

Fred, I did the same kinda deal except I added an adjustable restrictor to set the water temp where I want. Are you using a modified ECM?? There is quite a bit of power available if you use a recurve that eliminates Skidoo's thermo timing control and raise water temps up a bit.

Engine Tech also has a thermo housing available

Triple7, I have not modified the ECM yet. I might try it next. The engine and pipes generate so much power as it is, just having to much fun riding.:beer;

jdog, the tunnel is a Terra Alps. Ted does great work, but he is very slow. He also did my BB860 and set the engine and pipes up.

The suspension is incredible, Curt @ Nextech gives excellent customer service. They are improving the skid, and sending me updates. Great company, I highly recommend Curt.

What main jets are you guy's using in your 860's?

i m running 460s in my specialty 860 bb i might put 450s in the hottest i ve got my probes has been 1200 at 2000 ft usually wide open it runs at 1050 wide open and 1150 at three quarters with stock reeds and full dyno port exuast I also have ajustable needles in mine and have raised the needle one clip size

I need a FULL REPORT on the Jaws Twins. Did they work on the dyno? How many hoods and sidepanels were melted in the process.....I wanted to run those twins last year, but Jaws never got'em finished.

jets

I am running 560 main jets, 07 needles clip in the middle, yellow epi sping in driven with 47/43 helix and 16.2 grams of weight. I likes 8150 to 8250 and pulls hard. lot of torque love the motor

Running 500 mains now up from smaller size. 3 inch holes in upper box. ECM recurve and it rips. VERY nice sled. Did you ever run single pipe? How much more with twins? How do they fit?

Thanks, I am running 520's. I never ran the BB w/o the twins. The sled just rips, very happy. The pipes fit great, I had a couple tabs welded on where there were rub marks from the other pipe. This was more for preventative maintanence. I have not had any problems with melting or anything else. One issue is where the pipes go into the exhaust manifold, I have blowby on the clutch side. I have tried twice to stop it with high heat silicone, but no success. Any advice would be great.

1150 at 8150 WOT for me. I did have a slight bog on the bottom end, moved the needle down runs great.

motor runs like the old 809 souped up , long linear power curve
had 540 mains and droped the needle one position by putting shim on top of clip instead of under it.
stock ramps in primary with 27gr tip weight and 160/350 spring
straight 44 helix with stock spring
154 track with gearing down 1 tooth on top.
billet t stat assy from engine tech
running 8300

running 20 pilots put shim under the clip raising the needle and 430 mains runs awsome did'nt think iwould ever get that thing to run good tons of power thinking of leaning out main 420 s or 410s. whats a t-mod
