I wouldn't worry about the lack of power or the reliability. I ride with alot of guys who run Pros and the only thing anyone of us has had to do to our sleds is tighten the throttle cable every 600 miles. When your pros in perfect tune it will run alongside or outrun any other 800 out there. My 2012 just turned 1250 miles today without any issues (had to put on new belt at 1,000 miles). I rode with a guy on a 2011 this morning that had 2300 miles without any issues. As far as getting horsepower to the track they just plain work, we had some serious hill drags on the mountain this last week, my Pro with my 220 lbs. (dressed) hind end on it ran even with an E-tech, drove by an XP, beat up on two Pro-climbs, and outpulled a couple 2010 M8's. In the normal group of guys I ride with there are 6 Pros, none of them have had any mechanical issues. Where the Pro really shines is in 3' of fresh. One of the 2011 155's I ride with quite often has a mesh hood with a 180lbs. jockey, I've been eating his roost all year and I haven't seen any other normally aspirated 800 that can climb along side him. They do leave a little to be desired in the whoops.
