xlt wont start

it was running a few days ago just fine then it got about twenty below and yesterday it started and eventualy bogged out at an idle. it wouldnt start after that. today samething. it has freshly cleaned carbs and new plugs. what would cause it to not start? how do i fix it?

Process of elimination. Fuel, spark and air. Has to have all three to run. Get it in someplace warm, Check for spark. Then make sure it's getting fuel. The air is a given. If I had to guess given the 20 below temps you mentioned I would say either frost in the impulse line or ice in the fuel system. Being it just died at an idle, it's got to be something simple. Hope this helps, Mike.

My 95 xlt did the exact same thing and it turned out to be an ice plug in the fuel line at the filter. thook the filter off ang got the ice out then put some liquid heat in my gas tank and havent had a problem since.

Yep...bad enough we have to put up with the ethanol...but it attracks water as well...ICE!! happened to me before too!! don't use heet!!
