got an xlt 600. I notice when its running coolent is squirting out of the top of the coolent contanier. Any sugestion on what it could be?

It is supposed to have pressure when warm. You have:
1) A loose cap
2) A bad Cap
3) Bottle that is warped or has a hole in it...

If your talking about the coolant resivour. My guess is either it is over filled or you have a bad head gasket.

I have had my hands in alot of xlt's over the years. Every single one has had the gaskets leak. In the early stages of this, they do exactly what you have going on. The coolant tank will swell and buldge, and blow coolant out of the little pin hole in the cap. Very common problem and will only get worse. It will not show up on a leak down or compression test. Eventually it will start to leak bad enough into one of the cylinders to where it starts affecting the way that it runs. Until then, I scratched my head on the first few to figure out why it was blowing out the cap on the bottle. After enough of them, I knew better.
