XLT 580 on 10lbs to much?

I am new to snowmobiles and I have a XLT 580 with a First Choice turbo set up. My compression is 87, 85, and 86. I was told the sled has head work to reduce compression. It runs at 8-10lbs on pump gas, is that to much boost? Also most of the time it boggs above 3/4 throttle. I just read in another thread its probably cause I only have one header to pipe spring on it. I am gonna put three more on it and if it still boggs what else could it be? Carbs are sync'd, chokes adjusted, fuel pressure is at 20lbs at full boost, and power jets are 5 turns out (almost all the way). Sorry for rambling and thanks in advance!!!

That is pretty low comp even for a turbo. Any how ya ne more springs on the exhaust and check the donut also. I would'nt run much more than 10 on those ever with the 53 turbo. I have ran 16 on av with a garret before but it really didn't make alot more up there vs 10 because of no intercooler. depending on your jetting you cold be overfueling on the top and 20 psi may be a bit much. Your fuel pressure only has to be about 5 over boost pressure.

Do you have any pics of this set up, didn't know you could get turbos for these old sleds, sounds sweet!!

EDIT-how do I get ahold of first choice turbos, a website or phone number?

what is your main jet size? what elevation are you at.

it sounds like you have way to much fuel. or at least you are not giving it where you need it. if you have to open your power jets more that 3 turns you need to up a size in you main jet.

if you are pulling 10 spi your holding pressure.

post up some pics and we can help. :face-icon-small-hap
