Out with the old, in with the new...old. Yes, the old flap is the new one. Should improve cooling and get caught by the lugs less (more rigid). We'll find out in a couple of months.

I could look it up but if you have the part number for the "new" old flap, please pass it on.

I suppose that would help, duh.

Snow flap is Polaris part #5434954 (used on all of the RMKs, from about 2005-2010). Picked mine up at a local shop for $20.

Rivets used were 610LF (3/16" x 5/8" long, stainless steel, large flange). Bought a bag of 25 on eBay for about $9 shipped.

I did see some were doing that a few years ago and it works pretty good from what I have heard. That's really a good price!

Rear Flap

When I purchased my first Polaris Pro Rmk the factory stock flap was immediately removed and I installed an older IQ style flap off of my 2010 Polaris. The older flap, IMO, provides for better cooling.

Just bringing this old post back up to report that the old school snow flap makes an AMAZING difference. Just got back from a week long trip in Star Valley. No new snow and the trails were icy. My sled hit 150 once, but usually stayed around 120. Last year, with the stock snow flap and same conditions, I hit 190 a lot.

If you're having cooling issues, regardless of which track you have, I'd throw on one of these old flaps.
