Alright I started a thread a while back on the X3 on the Pro and it has a ton of great info, so I thought I would take it a step further.

What is everyone running for clutching?

Somthing custom, Rooster Built, Carl's, ???????

Also it would be nice to hear not only what has worked but what doesn't work the best.

I'm putting a X3 162 on this weekend. Ill be running MDS, at first and have roosterbuilt on order. So ill know the difference of the two in a few weeks.

Also it would be nice to throw in elevation it's clutched for and any other good info as well.

5000-8,500 feet elevation.

X3 x 156
7t avid extros
anti-stab, trimmed rails
9" Fabcraft big wheels and off-set axle
Harts Motorsports adjustable limiter strap
poorman's K-mod (moved stock limiter strap to rear scissor)

light blue/pink primary spring
stock weights
stock helix
black/purple secondary spring

Engine isn't quite finished breaking in...@ 105 miles now.
HOLDS 8300-8350 on the hill.

Hey Scott,

Do you ever ride at higher elevation then listed? I was just curious on your set-up as that is what I run as well but with the stock track.

Black Green Primary Spring, Stock Weights 60 gram, Black Purple Secondary Spring, Stock Helix. Works great 8000 +

7 tooth drivers
9" big wheel kit
60/40.40 team dual angle helix
Team gold/black secondary spring (170/240)
Two delrins in secondary
58 gram epi belly buster weights
Team lime green primary spring (150/340)

Clutched for 10-12,000 feet

Runs great! 8200-8250 Nothing more nothing less.

This is carls recommended clutching for the pro with a 3" track

Actually, my range is more like 4500-8500. The majority is 5-7 though.

No there are some aftermarket companies that do a drop and roll of the chain case/belt drive to accommodate for bigger drivers.

This summer I'm going to try 8 tooth drivers to see if it makes a difference. Just nervous about having the drivers exposed. The teeth of the seven tooth already stick down past the tunnel on my sled.

Jones does carles say to gear down with there clutch setups? Hope to keep the stock gearing.

Carl's uses that same clutching in the stock sled with powerclaw 2.25 track, had it in mine. Still found a tied secondary to be better.
