X-Games Snowmobile Speed & Style on now

Levi and Parsons should have been the gold medal run! Man can Joe ride...loved the commentators comment about him having little expeirnce.

Parsons just got bronze.

Can't believe Chris and Frisby both fell off!!

I like Levi, but I think ESPN is gonna make me crazy with the constant following of him.

Levi wins gold, Rogers silver.

Would have liked to see more variety. Parsons did the same run and Levis was pretty much the same as well.

Overall Speed and Style is a good add on to winter-x!

Burandt would have taken it if he hadn't have messed up earlier, and yes to the variety

I personally didnt like it that much.. wasnt that much fun to watch.. ok ya most of them did a backflip on the first jump.. and a couple did cliffhangers or stippers on the second.. and mainly seat grabs on the third.. but the actual racing didnt play a very big part of it.. unless they fell off.. Understand that they are trying to make it more t.v. friendly.. just think the ol'hillcross was way better.. IMO

Was it a timed event, or scored on your tricks, or a combination? I saw the highligts but it didnt say

It was broke up into two 50 point scores.. one for time.. and one for tricks (judge panel)..... time really never came into a factor unless they really really screwed up....

Time was a HUGE factor! It was the reason Parsons didnt make the gold medal round. He beat Levi in trick points but was around 3 seconds back and that was the difference. Might be a little wrong here, but basically whoever crossed the finish jump first got 50 speed points and the second guy lost 1 point per second he was back or something to that general affect. Made the freestylers run a smooth line through the race section and it was night and day of who had race experience and who didnt.

It was very cool to watch from the sidelines. Levi no doubt had the best combo of speed and style with Parsons not far behind. Frisby had the sickest tricks, but was never smooth through the race course. Levi & Parsons had it both on lock, but Levi's a machine, dude was just too quick.

There was a lack of variety in tricks, but thats because they were head to head and not up against just the judges. Guys knew time was super important and if they nailed a flip off the first ramp, big extension off the second and a stock trick off the third, they'd still be quick and within a point of everyone else in tricks. It all came down to the racing.

thanks for the info Tom. By the way nice pics of in the 509 thread! Is there video to come?
