Ya, I was getting my permits for all 3 states and thought I would post up the link for everyone.

Stinks we need our VIN to get one, but I understand why. Was gonna get one on the way, but still waiting on new sled to arrive.

Last year when we were purchasing our non resident permits at The Fly Store in Laramie, the guy was telling us that if you donated the 1 dollar to search and rescue you would not be charged if you were lost and search and rescue was sent out to find you. Is that true or is it total BS?

If I remember correctly

It is true....but part of your snowmobile reg goes for the same thing

Not sure about the first one but it is only a dollar and it goes to a good cause. Not entirely sure they would charge anyway, unless it was blaitintly obvious you were trying to cause problems. Most states would rather you call for help than risk a more serious issue by worrying about the cost and not calling. Agian don't hold me to this...

As for the second part. None of the registration goes to SAR. It is soely for grooming and other operation in running the state snowmobile systems.

Some more info on the program.

Correct^^^ but the selling agent gets to keep one dollar.

Believe that would be categorized as an operational cost of running a trail system!

Point is, only the optional dollar goes to SAR fund, none of the permit $ go to SAR.

Correct^^^ but the selling agent gets to keep one dollar.
