Wyoming Avalanche Classes

Just starting a thread for Wyoming avalanche classes this season. I have quite a few friends that I ride with from the Worland area and I don't think any of them have ever been through a course before. I figure the best chance of getting them to go to one is if I find it fairly close to them and then badger them about it. Post them as you know about them. Thanks!

Avalanche Class

There will be an Avalanche Class put on by Mike Duffy at Action Motor Sports in Gillette, WY on Wednesday October 1st starting at 6pm. It is Free and you can pre-register by Calling the shop at 307-687-0737. Also Tylers Backcountry Awareness will be at the Snowmobile Swap Meet at the Camplex on October 25th from 10am to 8pm. They will be setting up a Beacon Park and have lots of information on hand.

FREE BRP Avalanche Rescue Skills Classes

“Avalanche Rescue Skills” New classroom session with hands-on, demonstrations, Powerpoint and video. This is the next step in classroom education. Emphasis is on avalanche transceivers and rescue techniques. Class will start with a quick review on avalanche accidents and reading avalanche reports. Will progress to more advanced avalanche rescue techniques. Students are encouraged to bring their avalanche gear to class (beacon, shovel, probe, pack).
