The sled I bought was wrecked due to the this same problem. The weld broke right at the plate so we just welded the plate back onto the post so far no problems. I will replacing the post one of these days but it was a easy fix.

I would just weld it back into place or look into aftermarket. I don't know where your budget is but look into fabcraft. Plus if i remember their post actually gives you a little extra lift.
