i wouldnt put a deck on anything smaller than 3/4 ton, you would really have to beef up the suspensionon a 1/2 and if you got stopped you might get a ticket for being over weight
I have installed air bags on the tacoma. I have also had a 900 lb camper on it with out any problems, I just figure an 08 rev xp at less than 450 lbs and a single place alum deck would be fine.
remember the gas, oil etc....then gear and the weight of deck itself. then the wheelbase with a crosswind, and mto loving to hand tickets out.
ive seen a few taco's with homemade wood decks with ramps. would work probably better then a big deck. plus it keeps your sled lower and keeps your truck more stable.
I would suggest one of our single loaders. You can contact Mark at route 99 motorsports in Pemberton, they are a dealer for our products. He has a large order of decks coming that way on the 31st of October and we could add one of these units to the order if you are interested in it. Otherwise we can make you a single deck for your truck.
