**WTB Carillo Rods & JE Pistons for Apex**

Three guys I know personally have have collapsed pistons on Apex's, I have read of a lot more too, not sure if its from the lack of support on the tops of the cylinders or from the Wiseco's themselves. Have never seen with JE's. Ask Quantum Velocity, Gunnerthesnowman, Freak, Alpine Motorsports, etc etc, they will all tell you. I'm sure the Outlaw Motorsports guys have seen it too. It was a big thing for a while on the old forum.
 
It's been my experience that collapsed pistons are usually the result of too much detonation. Not saying that has been the problem in these cases but that is usually what causes it.
 
Wisco's also are more prone to oil burning.

JE's no doubt, heard mostly bad things with boost and Wiseco's.
 
the wisecos have a prob in the pin area thats where they fail all the time its a weak spot they have supposedly fix it but it bit allot of people.the best pistons you can get are the je cut for stock rings no oil blow by at all.i beleave outlaw has them.

Okay, that makes sense to me now given the design of the earlier Wisecos for these engines. I have actually seen the same problem with some stroker small block Ford pistons.
