I believe the 01 800 bottom end (Case and Crank) are the same as the later 02 and up VES 800's. The only difference between the motors were the VES on the newer 800s. Don't limit your search to just the 00 and 01 800 bottom end.

the 800 bottom ends are the same the difference is just the cylinders, the waterpump cover is different on the 03 vertical escapes and newer 800's

The year 2000 800 cases had different case porting, 01' and newer were better.

How much you lookin to spend, I've got a motor with one bad cylinder that i may part out. Have not checked the crank yet, not gonna be using any of that motor besides the cylinders.
