WRP vs BETTER BOARDS, what's the differences?

I see the WRP boards having more side strength with the way they rivet up the side of the tunnel with their logo and more material. and look cool... : D I am trying to figure out the best solution for me. Im running my 09' D8 with stock running boards right now and have a set of the Snow Eliminators. Just don't believe thats the best solution. so lets hear it guys!

I am running the Better boards on my pro I didn't even ride it with the stock boards because I was so sold on them from my D8. I am unsure on the WRP boards I haven't ever ridden a sled with them. I think they are wider than stock or they offer that option. A little wider foot board would be nice on the pro but I just need more time in the deep on mine to get used to it but what ever company you choose any of them will work just fine.

On certain sleds, mainly the iq you do not want to rivet into the sides, tunnel etc. It can cause cracking.

Better boards fan here. Had them on two sleds now.

Better Boards Here

My Better Boards arrived today, so I'm in the process of installing them now. Man I hate the feeling of cutting into a brand new sled..... but they do look good installed.

Huh? How is the IQ any better or worse than any other sled?

IMO, i plan on getting a set of skinz air frame boars, or a simular style.

If a sled can't take a drill and rivet in the side there are huge problems with that chassis! I highly question your statement.

I can't speak for better boards, but I ran WRP's on my xp last year and they were excellent! Would run them again in a heartbeat. Good product and actually improves stiffness on the running board.:thumb:

if i was gonna do boards i'd go with the plastic fastlane board insert hands down. snow doesn't stick to plastic... had these on my M8 and where the best boards ever, never once had to kick the boards out, never. was riding this weekend with 2 guys with metal type inserts powdercoated and they were kicking their boards everytime i was kicking my stockers, go figure.

his statement is completely true. an iq raw/pro ride tunnel is a three piece tunnel consisting of a tunnel top and two tunnel sides, the stock tunnel sides are very thin and flimsy (gotta love weight savings) when you take a running board insert like say a snow eliminator board you are riveting the running board platform from the outside rail lip all the way across and up the tunnel side (keep in mind only at the very bottom 1" lip or so) by doing so when you jump up and down on the sled even on flat ground you can watch the tunnel side flex outward do to the downward force on the sled. now when you multiply that force many times over by real world riding weather it be jumping cornices or hauling *** down the bumpy trail you are strssing the tunnel side over and over and over again, eventually stress cracks will appear and you will either be replacing your tunnel sides with a CR racing or VE tunnel side kit, or replacing the tunnel as a whole. this is not a myth that roams the forums it is a proven fact. the WRP boards are a better design than the SE's because they have more meat on the the tunnel side, however there is reason that better boards are the number one selling board insert in the world. they flat work, have been proven many times over, have great customer service and support and are reasonably priced.

Rob Heebe should chime in any second and give you the sales pitch.

That's just funny right there!:pound:Nothing better than product placement. i've ran both BB and SE. they are both well made and work well. they both work equally as well as the other. i saw zero difference between the two. sorry, no direct experience with the wrp boards but i would think they would produce similar results. i also riveted to the side of the tunnel without issue with lots of hard ridden miles on both sets (both on iqs) without an cracking issues. (i weight about 210-220 geared up) i also believe the plastic style could possibly be superior than any of the metal ones but no real issue with not being able to clear the boards with the ones i had. i am waiting on a set of air frames for the new pro. that looks like the way to go to me, but very expensive. we'll see how they work, if they ever get them made...

Frankly, I'm really happy with how the stock boards clear out. Unless your snow is wet and sticky, you won't have any issues with the stockers. Plus wet and heavy snow will stick to the Better Boards unless they are coated. I had a set of uncoated aluminum BBs on my 08 RMK, and wet snow would plug them up.

BB

I had powder coated BB's on my 08 D8 and had to kick them just as much as those without just a little less effort. I think that the stock boards on the Pro will be fine but I do like the skinz airframe boards

did you have powder coated boards or the natural aluminum? the pro boards still pack full of snow, not much better than the iq raw

have seen pics of the airframe boards, are they plastic? had a buddie a few years ago spent way too much money on a 700 yami and had boards that looked like the airframes on a custom tunnel and they were plastic. no way for snow to build up on them!
