Our local cat shop said the 800 are closer to 154 hp , not 160 as advertised????????

That sounds very reasonable.. Either way.. 154HP is a very strong 800 stock..

I have already been in side the engine.. It is a sleeping giant waiting to be unleashed..

It will be a great sled, especially when "tweeked" properly..

Can't wait for the snow to fly...

10-12 more ponies is still a pretty healthy increase from 09! But ya it does suck when your expecting 160+. BTW the name "Mad Dragon" doesn't help your credibility lol.

what will be stonger

Who will win the power reviews? I believe both polaris and cat will have great engines in 2010. However after what I have heard from SLP is that Polaris 800s are going to shock alot of Polaris owners as to what they get for power and torque !! Torque numbers are great!!!! I have both cat and polaris and I am looking forward to raceing my cat against my wifes assault!!!!

DD=10% more power to the track???????

It will all come out on the hill this winter. HP is a good benchmark to go by, but true "Western" powder riding is a combination of far more variables than just horsepower. My Nytro has BIGGGGG Horsepower!!!!, bigger than the M8 will probably ever have. But in the boondocks, it is a different story.

Dont get caught up the in the "he said, she said" the proof is always in the pudding and it is almost pudidng time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

nothing i love more than the pudding time!:D
the only difference is my pudding cost less then half!

Mmmm Pudding Time...

Hp #

Cat never claimed 163 the after market test did cat calmed 10% more witch would be like 156 but independent dyno's 3 of them i do believe claimed close to 163. I think that its going to be fun what ever the numbers are.

Dynotech's pre-production F8 made 163.4 hp @ 8200 RPM and 106.0 lb-ft @ 7900/8000 with a motor temp of 130*. It made a couple less HP with a water temp in the 160* range. Interesting article on his website.

I am surprised more shops haven't been tossing production sleds on the dyno's and reporting findings. I guess its still September.

Chris.

Lets see when dynotech resurses dyno a productions sled ... 156hp is very good but in real life riding the new ac 800 possible can produce 160hp depending on quality on the fuel.
