wreck at the grove

any one know what happened up there saturday the search and rescue were up there looking for a guy that got in a wreck and we tried to help the search and rescue find where the wreck was, maybe someone on hear knows

I have no clue what happened, but Chris got stuck in the trees on a pretty steep hill in Castle Rock, and by where he got stuck, there was a track of someone who's sled stopped going up and it slid down, took out probably a 6" diameter tree, and into an even bigger tree, looked like it could have done quite a bit of damage. Maybe that was it...

sounds like that was it they said he hit a tree pretty damn hard. did it look like there was lots of peoples footprints by where it happened

Yea, we was wondering on that one.. Looked nasty from where Chris was STUCK Hope for the best.. There was foot prints hiking up to that tree. Pretty good hike up too.. Must been then cause we found a way to stop just above, But still had to hike to where Chris was STUCK.

Guy was climbing just to the east of the main chute in the scattered pines in castlerock and didn't quite make it. Hit a tree and broke his femur and had pretty good cut.

That was the spot. It looked like it could've been pretty bad

It was my friend Burke. He was climbing the chute and lost it. He tried to ride it out and get it out of the trees but didn't make it. Broke his femur, wrist and tore open both shins really bad. Sleds motor is ok but the bulkhead is toast. He is doing ok.

I'm curious as to how you guys got him out of there in that kind of shape. Did he get flown out by Life Flight? That looks very painful!

after looking down to where you was headed and looking at that broken tree where that guy ended, yea good thing you stuck it. Could of been potentially just as bad .. Hope he's doing better...

Ouch!!! After looking at that and reading the list of injuries I don't feel sorry for myself anymore.

He didnt want to pay for the life flight so they took him out on a tow behind sled. Once they pumped him full of Morphine he didnt feel a thing. He is doing good now. Just taking it easy.
