get rid of orton and McDaniels!!! that is just my 2 cents. McDaniels is a schmuck for the way he handled the whole QB situation. Oh well I guess I will have to wait until next year.

McDaniels is a schmuck? How about Jay Cutler is a Schmuck
McDaniels DIDN'T SHOP Cutler. He listened to teams who were interested in Cutler. He heard their offer and said thanks but no thanks. Cutler got wind of this and threw a fit saying he shouldn't have even listened. It is expected you listen to an offer. One day you might be on the other end and need that team to work a deal for you, don't burn bridges.
Cutler also threw a fit because the Offensive Cordinator was told he would not be with the Broncos this year, Cutler cried like a baby. Again, this is McDaniels team. Unless he is given complete control over the team he is head coach of then you cannot blame him for failure. Bowen made that obvoius from the start, Mc-D would get total control of coaching and staff. Doing differently would make us the Raiders and Al Davis.
This was just one game and a pre-season one at that. In case anyone forgot Shanny's first year with the Broncos we went 8-8, improving ONE win from the year before. This stuff takes time.
We clearly have a lot to improve from last night's game.
1. Orton needs to make better reads and better throws. He looked good other than the two bad read and one bad throw. I know that sounds funny but other than the INT's he looked good.
2. Run Defense looked horid again, although it was a bend not break attempt
3. Pass defense did look good, we had a good pass rush and the secondary did a good job
4. Offensive scheme looked impressive. Lots of different looks, I loved when we went into the hybrid offense with no set WR routes. They took reads off of the defense and each other and ran the routes, complicated but I can see where it causes lots of problems with defenses.
5. Knowshow, hopefully his knee is just tweaked a little, MRI today.
6. Simms looked good, granted he was playing without starters against 2nd/3rd string.
Basically this was just one game, don't buy into too much of it. I don't think we are a Super Bowl team but we have some solid talent, the future should be good.
I get so sick of hearing people already call for McDaniels head after one pre-season game or even before he even coached a game. For those that hope he fails, you are not real fans of the Broncos. Go cheer for the Raider nation! Shanahan and John Elway are never coming back.
Just look at the media BS from Cutler talking trash about Denver fans. That is enough for me to see that he was a primary cause of the trade. The lastest news is that he told Chicago front office people that he wants a say in who gets cut. What? You're not John Elway and you have a long way to go to be a premiere QB in this league. Plus, he threw an INT this week and could have easily had two INT's.
As for Orton, I can only hope he gels and these poor decisions go away. He looked good at times and marched down the field only to make a bad decision. Knowshon is going to be known as Knowshow if he doesn't get out and play.

How do you watch football and ride snowmobiles? Seems like two mutually exclusive goals to me. I will play my own sports...
Not too hard. We don't have to commute to ride up here in the mountain areas. I can ride a full tank of gas by 2:00PM. I'm usually spent and a shower and football complete the day. But I often miss the first quarter.

I think McDaniels has good ideas and he can relate to the players because he is closer to the same age. Orton isn't a bad quarterback but will never become any better than average.
It was Shannahan's time to go as he was going senile with his playbook, he couldn't manage or control the team. Cutler was a baby and a hothead, I never liked the kid. I have been a fan since #7 belonged to someone else other than Elway and I actually remember his name too.

On top of that Football regular season is done by the end of December. The good riding really doesn't start until January. Sure you can get some good rides in December but most of the football season is in the fall, not much snow then.
Most of September gets tied up with hunting season. I only waste a day watching football when I feel bad or there is really nothing to do. Radio mostly for me.
